Changed bios to set to factory reset with recovery disks

??Why were you messing with the bios?? Has absolutely Nothing to do with a restore!!! for a restore disc set. 2-Most important part, restore is useless without the correct bios. U R N over your head, but for bios, flasher & u need a boot disc, hope it has a floppy, otherwise you have to make an iso boot disc with the correct bios & flasher on it(preferrably an cd-rw so it can retrieve bad bips on) good luck...u gonna need it.

Locate the factory image drive

The Factory Image "D" drive (part of the computers hard drive) is the recovery partition It is sectioned off from the main "C" drive on the computer, you need to save your programs to the C drive. The D drive only has enough space on it to hold the recovery information (an image of the factory settings) and little else, you will need to use recovery discs to get the information that you saved to the D out of there since you can go into the D drive and delete anything.

How can i reset my gateway gt 5228 to factory settings?

Hi blainholdens,
You cannot delete everything on your hard drive if it is your main operating system drive. If you don't have a CD with which to install your operating system you will have to install the hard drive into another PC as a secondary drive, open 'My computer', right click on your hard drive and select the 'format' option from the drop-down menu.
Formatting the hard drive is effectively erasing all data from the disk and making it active and preparing it for starting new.

Best wishes,

HI. Turn of your computer and wait 30 seconds and turn it on again. Just after that before windows starts press F10 (some models use F8) it should take you to a restoring menu. If not maybe your computer have a recovery disc if it does boot your system from it.
Warning: Resetting you computer to the factory settings will erase all the personal data.

How do I restore computer which is a compaq desk top

Most compaq PC's have a built in function to bring the PC back to it's factory state. This is stored on a small (hidden) partition on the hard disk and can be accessed by pressing F8 or F12 during bootup (before the windows splash screen). The menu option will be something along the lines of "repair your computer".
If you've changed hard drives, formatted, or deleted the partition, your only option will be to re-install windows using a windows disc.

I want to reset my computer to the factory settings and erase everything else how do i do this

Restore discs should have been provided when you purchased the system. If you don't have the original restore discs then you won't be able to reset it identical to when it was purchased. You can do something very much like it though my installing a fresh copy of windows and formatting your hard drive during the installation. This will leave you with a completely blank PC with no programs at all, just Windows.

Nothing happens when I insert the recovery disc

when it tells you to take out every disc, leave the recovery disc as it contains the files needed for it to recover your system to factory specs

Reset to factory dettings

I am not sure on which drive the OS is installed. You can confirm if you can see Document and Settings folder on C drive. It means you can do all operations on D drive. To make it clear you need not to reset you just Select the Files and Folders which dont need it and press Shift+Delete. it will ask your confirmation before deleting the stuff. If sure press yes for all.

It will remove all the selected stuff from the D drive.

I recommend this becuase I am not sure whether you have Recovery disc provided by show owner.
