If you had a 8 pin jack (RJ31X) hook you ring and tip to #4 and #5. You can also plug a regular phone cord directly into the unit ito the left hand outlet on the board.

Logik model-lcd32v68p has got a symbol of headphones in the lower left hand corner on screen, how can i remove it?

Although not in the right category, because a TV is not an Accessories of a digital camera, I think I can help. Could it be someone put anything in the little headphone connector on your tv? (a child? someone in your house, who has listened with a head phone? someone who wants to make a practical joke?

When a head phone is inserted, the tv senses that, because some contacts are disconnected in the headphone jack. So is anything else is in the jack it looks the same for the tv. Please check eventually with a magnifying glass and some extra light.

Changed battery on simon 3 monitor but now phone line is down

If, as you say, you just changed the battery and had no phones right afterward it's likely that you accidentally loosened the phone jack inside the back of the panel(accessible when unit is opened to change the battery). Remove and then re-insert the phone-jack clip, usually on a wide flat cable, and carefully tuck/fold the wires in the hollow area so no pressure is on the phone jack & wire;recheck phones.

Hello this is simon. i just turn off my laptop dell studio 1555 and it was working well before shut down. when i start this another day it just not start and dont show even any light. please help me

Hello, Simon.

The most common reasons for power issues are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement. If a power jack problem, it should be addressed by someone knowledgeable.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Hope this helps.

GE Simon - Reset Installer Code & Remove Sensors

I am sure you already guessed this but it appears someone has changed the default installer code. Using the default installer, dealer, or master codes defeat the purpose of a security system as most criminals know the default codes. The only way I know of to regain control of this panel is to reset it to factory defaults. This does mean that you will have to completely re-progam the system. I would document as much stuff as you can from the display before resetting it. If you don't have a copy of the installation manual I am providing a link below. Hope this helps.

Simon 2 wont call a phone

I found this answer on the web. Should to work, I didn't test it. You need an RJ31X jack, that is where it is trying to dial out. The device shorts out the house line, and resets the line and automatically dials out on a clear line through the RJ31X (your six prong plug line. You can not use a CAT 5 plug or pass through, your need the shorting bar. There are screw terminals on the RJ31X, pins 4 & 5, is what you use with red and green wire of the phone wire. Plug in your six wire plug into the RJ31X and your panel. You should discover your phone dials out to your cell number.

There you have it, and now you know why it is not dialing you.

That smaller jack is for your house phones, not Ma Bell.

Now if you look at my Bio, you will discover I am a Power Quality Engineer specializing in surge suppression and lightning protection for burglar alarms, Fire Alarms, CCTV, and Gate Access. You may think I am trying to sell something, and yes I am, but very little profit if at all. I normally sell to dealers in volume. I make the RJ31XDSL Pacifier (or three stage surge suppression). $55.00 each and I will discount it to $35.00 if you choose to buy one. I also recommend that you use a PMM117 Power monitor/surge suppression plug device for your power. This will protect your burg panel from being damaged from under/over voltage plus impulses and surges. This device will cost $77.00, but I can discount it to $39.00 each. Both units are a good investment with your new tiny computer you installed called a burglar alarm. I understand not much respect by most end users for devices like this, but the first lightning strike will wish you had.

How do i set my simon 3 motion detector?

You have to put the motion in sensor group 17. You will see this list near the back of the thick installation manual that came with your Simon. Also, when installing the motion, when it asks you to trip the button on the sensor, all you have to do is take the back off of the motion. You will hear a beep. Replace the back, and continue!

My iPod keeps pausing!!

I got this fix from someone on one of these forums so I can't take the credit. It seems to sort the problem out though. Basically the ipod firmware auto pauses when you take the headphones out. Sometime the jack is so sensitive (especially if you buy new phones), that it thinks that you have removed them when you haven't. There is no way of turning this function off (that I know of). However, if you install Rockbox instead (a different operating system that has loads more functionality) then you can switch this function off, resolving the problem.
The only drawback is that you have to work with Rockbox. I only downloaded it last night but it looks pretty neat, way better than the default ipod one.
To switch it off you go to

Settings > Playback Settings > Pause on Headphone unplug > then there are 3 options to play with.

It's worked for me and stopped the infuriating pausing of tracks sometimes a dozen times per track. Relief!

DTIM with digial phone service

I install these types of alarms.
First, What is usuallly plugged into the cables main box? Usually it is a jack. This would run to the main phone lines in the house, and allow you to have service at alll the jacks in the house. If this was not the case, then you usually just plug your phone in directly. Either way, the tel #1/2 on the main box is the same principal as the two main lines comming in off the street with the phone company. If there is a jack, get another and a peice of 2/4 strand wire. (If you have a 8 pin bell jack let me know if not follow.) connect the red and green at the main jack to the red and green of the new jack. Plug in the DTIM and go. If it is just a plug in the phone directly then i suggest getting three jacks. plug a regular phone cable from tel 1/2 into the first jack. Then connect the red and green to the next red and green. this is the DTIM jack. Then do the same to connect a phone jack for your phone. I have installed lots of simon 3 systems but never with a DTIM> I also install alot of GE Allegro panels and they come with the DTIMs. Are you having it learn in properly? It should be group 39 on the system. At least it is on the other panels.
Good luck.
