Hi.

The problem is either a faulty door latch mechanism or a contact in wiring harness from electronic control.

The repair is done reading Volts or reading impedance in difference points to test what part is causing the problem. The repair involves jumping the door latch wiring and working with live power to read volts. For safety reasons the repair must be done by a trained technician.

When the door catch is humming you usually fix the problem by replacing the door latch assembly. Check if the door lock is dirty or locked.

See here how to locate parts and diagrams: Where do I find parts and diagrams?

To contact an authorized technician or to check warranty status call the manufacturer at the number listed on the owner manual.

Regards.

Ginko.

When hitting start button, it sometimes buzzes, but fails to start. Can sometimes wait for a little while and try again, and it starts. When it buzzes, it will only buzz for a few seconds and then nothing.

it is either the door switch or start switch, this website will show you how to test both, Good Luck Tim:

We have a 80 series elec. dryer, today when the end of cycle buzzer sounded, when door was closed again...buzzer continues to buzz. I can't find a part number, if the end of cycle buzzer needs replacing. ...

Push the timer to a definate off position. Close the door. If it buzzes then more than likely you are getting power from the timer which could mean short in the timer. If you have the model # the parts places can easily find your parts.

Dryer will not start when I push the start button. All I get is a loud buzzing.

Hi,
The buzzing is a good sign that the motor is bad...

There can be many reasons why your dryer will not start or turn...

The most common causes are the belt breaking or jumping off, or the motor going bad...

Try holding the door switch lever in and turning the drum hard by hand. It sounds like you have a start switch out in the motor.

Signal

Kenmore 70 series. Model/Stock 66702692 Serial MG2402832

Cycle Signal works but then won't shut off until I open up the dryer door - it just keeps buzzing for hours. Also the dryer will turn on if I close the door ( and arrow is within a number and not on off) without pressing the start button. So if door is closed - the dryer will run or buzz (depending on arrow). How do I fix this?

Thank you
