well i cant get the mouse cursor to go on top of the settings to adjust them. it wont go on it just behind it. thats why i said it disappears. for example....it says exit on the settings window for the monitor but i cant get the mouse ON IT to exit from it. I will try what you suggested and I really appreciate your time. thanks.

Sorry but the settings on the monitors menu are not operated by mouse clicks. You have to manually press the up down button or may be + - button to browse between the menu. And in order to select a particular sub menu you have to click on menu again. It totally depends upon the icons on your model. I've just provided a general idea you have to apply your own hit and try method.

You need to use the monitor controls from the front panel, not the mouse.

If it only disappears when you move it left or right off the edge of the screen, your video software may think you have a second monitor. Tell it different.

Mouse pointer disappers

I've seen this happen a couple of times when Word uses the initial preview "Read Mode" or Protected View . Try changing the mode by clicking on the View tab and changing the mode to Print Layout. When it happens to me, that seems to do the trick. If you don't want Word to use the Protected View, go into the Trust Settings for Protected View and uncheck the options in there...this may also keep it from happening in the future...good luck! :-)

Cursor disappeared

If you have multiple screens set up it might be on one of the 'extra' desktops. Very deliberately drag your mouse in one direction 3-4 times, change direction and do it again and again until you see the mouse pop up. Also if you are good at navigating by keystroke you could go into your display settings and remove any extra monitors. Hope this helps!

Samsung monitor menu controls (contrast & brightness) inoperable

You're not supposed to be able to use the mouse to adjust these settings. These settings can only be adjusted from the buttons on the monitor!

Please read the user manual for your monitor for exact instructions.

An OSD message appears in a box that covers much of the monitor screen. The mouse pointer disappears behind the box whenever I try to sweep into it. The box will not go away (except intermittantly)...

OSD means On Screen Display. To unlock the OSD hold the power button of the monitor until you get a message similar to "OSD unlocked".
