Hi.

If the the remote works intermittently on more than one fan, then the remote is faulty. Each fan has its own remote sensor, and the three of them cannot be faulty at the same time.

If codes had been changes it is also unlikely that the problem is interference from a different IR device (remote, phone etc).

Ensure that there is no problem with the power network, then replace the remote.

It's possible the fan is in reverse and some fans will not on function faster or lower speeds, check for a switch on the side of the fan just above the blades.

Can you hear the motor run even though the blades are not turning? If so, the manifold/flywheel may be bad and perhaps have broken away from the motor shaft.

Look on the side of the Fan above the light fixture there is a little black switch you just need to switch it, make sure the fan is off before switching it.

Hampton Bay model 11420 52 inch fan did not come with any instructions.

If the fan and light assembly are fully assembled, all you've got to do is connect the original wires to their respective(white, black and uncoated copper ground) wires. Then mount your motor/light assembly using the proper supplied harware. Next you just put on the fan blades, connect each one with the three screws to the bracket. Do the same for the other two, three or four blades. and attach them to the motor assembly. P.S. When you are attaching the fan blades, make sure the side that faces down is correctly positioned and that it matches all the rest. If this blad is to be operated using the pull cords you're all set. If the fan is mounted too high up and it is not remote controlled then you'll have to purchase a special three speed wall switch for it. In the latter case you would leave the fan speed on high on the unit itself.

Think we've figured out that a neighbor has the same remote code as we do and we will have to change our code. (This fan is out on our screened porch and the homes are close together here.)

inside the remote, and inside the transmitter above the fan there are 4 tiny keys that set the frequency. set each frequency different then the remotes will only operate that fan. However if two lights r on and one off, when u turn the switch off they all go off, and when u turn it back on the same ones should come on. Then label the remotes!!!

Hampton Bay 46056 fan

I have three Hampton Bay Ceiling fans with remotes for eight years. I doesn't help when a neighbor buys the same make and model. So, I had to come up with a different code for mine. I had to change the code for the remote and match it with the code in the fan. To change the code in the fan, that depends on the type of fan you have, some you would need to look on top of the fan and use a skinny stick to change the code, other's you would need to take the light fixture down to get to the controller box to change the code. I have both types, this is how know. PS. if ever, which will happen, if the fan doesn't respond to the remote then you would need to replace the controller inside the fan. Here's the warrenty no. 800.749.3267 for replacement.

Sounds like the remote receiver units (located where the mains connect to the fans) took a surge and have failed.

Remote calibration

I installed three fans in the same room and one remote ran all three. In order to get the dimmers all to bring the lights up and down together, I changed the dip-switches in the fan housing so that the remote would only work one fan at a time. I then brought the dimmer lights all the way to bright. After all the lights were equally bright, I again altered the dip-switches so that all three and the remote were identical. The remote then dimmed all three lights equally.
