Depending on the wiring of the unit it could be a lid safety switch,a bad mechanical timer or timer motor if the timer clock doesn't advance when set,a defective or broken wire at or near the motor start relay due to corrosion from internal machine moisture.

first being safe unplug the unit, then jumper the lid switch(bypass it),then see if this is your problem,if not does the timer advance by itself?if not then check for power to the timer clock motor that advances the timer through its cycles next

My defy automaid 600 does not come on at all, the power light is on but nothing happens, no matter which cycle I choose. A few years back I replaced the capacitor.

The lid switch may be bad. Try bypassing the lid switch.
The lid switch is on the top of the washer and held by two screws in most washers. You may have to cut the wires and use wire nuts.
There is dangerous AC voltage going through the switch so you must unplug the washer when shorting out the switch.
If you don't understand basic electrical circuits, you should ask a friend who is handy with electrical circuits to help you.
There can be some other problem so this may not help but it is worth a try.

Defy autodry trouble shooting

Check the door latch. If that is faulty, the machine just remains in limbo until replaced. If you close the door and try and select a program and it wont proceed, normally means door latch is faulty.

Samsung washing machine

Based on my experience, the same thing happens to me as you have mentioned that it happens every end of a cycle. I doubt if it was a fan error or a frequency error. for me, its just a simple overload for the autodrying. for example on my model. the manual says autodrying cotton-cupboard dry must be max 3 kg. since you cannot measure your wet clothes and it sometimes exceed the 3kg autodrying, that is when the FE comes out. but when i remove some clothes or spin the laundry again and put it into drying, everything works fine. when i use the machine with minimal clothes say 2kg dry, the whole cycle up to drying work fine without FE errors.

So i believe its just an error for drying overload. also the manual says nothing about FE nor Error code for drying overload.

Hope this help.

Loaded washer and then a FH message came up and then I unplugged it. Checked it plugged it back in and no power no lights no nothing. Plug is good and checked house fuses but still no power.

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code F/H means no water was detected entering machine or Pressure switch trip not detected. If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine and then valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed. It can also happen if the control has turned the water valves on and after 8 minutes the flow meter has detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it, but has not detected the pressure switch trip, the valves will be turned off and the error code will flash. You'll have to Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display. Please rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Mini Disc Not Working

Pull the power cord. Make sure the three-position switch with "REC/Standby/PLAY" is in the middle position, then plug the cord back in. Wait a minute, then press POWER. Now load a disk and wait 1 minute for it to read the Table of Contents (TOC). Either it will show the tracks, or it will say 'empty disk'. Let us know what happens from there, okay?

The machine (Automatic Breadmaker SD-255/SD-254) is plugged in and the display lights up but when I press the buttons but nothing happens - I cannot change the setting or start the machine.

Plug the unit in at the power outlet. If the display comes on, switch it off with the START/STOP button. After the display goes off, switch the unit on with the SELECT button. Remember that the START/STOP button is only used to start or stop a specific program.
