Question about Televison & Video
Try first disconnecting the DVD recorder power cord for ten minutes. This will reset the unit and can fix temporary faults.
If that does not work, and the player does not read any disk, the problem may be dirty lens. This is the most common cause for DVD units not reading any disk.
In that case follow the indications in this link. I wrote the article to answer to the same common problem:My player does not read disks.
Cleaning lens is the most common fix for the problem. If that does not work, then the internal drive must be replaced.
Before cleaning the lens, better contacting Philips. If the unit is under warranty it will be repaired at manufacturer expenses, and lens cleaning operations or disassembly can affect your factory limited warranty.
