Ricoh 5-in-1 Card Reader Driver Upgrade?

Cannot read SanDisk microSD 2GB on HP tv9000t CTO.

I think you are referring to another slot. The card does fit in the slot. The slot is a SD/MMC slot. It handles SD/MMC/Memory Sticks/xD Picture controller, etc,. HP calls this a Digital Media Slot. Ricoh calls it a 5-in-1 card reader. It is NOT the older SD card slot you are referencing. The HP site has a multimedia guide on this.

Looking at the sizes I don't think the SD or MiniSD would fit. The microSD does. My problem may be that I have SD drivers installed but the reader is different. It does react when I remove it giving me a safe to remove ICON, but does not give the pop up menu that is intended. Like the DVD insertion produces.

Any other ideas in this vane?

I have sp34665.exe installed. This newer that the link above as far as I can see. Do you agree?

Yes I Have the same slot as the YouTube movie. The microSD does seem to fit in properly it is a sandisk 2007-06-26D..

Here comes a big DUH. I am 62 with not the vision I once had. Looking at the SanDisk product with my magnifying glass I see that the product I have is the Adaptor. That is why it fits in the slot. I got a three pack when I purchased the SD for my phone.

The actual microSD memory is in the phone. They do not make this clear on the instructions from SanDisk, that you get one memory and two adaptors.

So I don;t get recognition because I have the adaptor with no memory in it.

You are right. None of the techs at HP pointed this out. They were just grumpy. Clearly this is a little more subtle problem, especially if you have not used the card and moved it around much, and your eyes are bad, It must be 4pt font.

Problem has been resolved for 2 months now. Thread s/b archived. I don't need more help.

A couple of things can be learned here, packaging standards do not consider the visually impared., hopefully one day they will be changed. Secondly, define the problem before a lot of effort and frustration results from try to resolve it.

You'll need a microsd-sd adapter, because micro sd does not fit into the reader. There are sd-adapters which don't contain memory themselves, but in which you can place a microsd card

    Is your laptop type dv9000t?
Then i am pretty sure the cardreader does not support micro sd.
Also if you say yourself it is SD/MMC slot, then microSD will not fit...
Are you sure your memory card is microSD?
Just look at this movie for example... At 1:08 he clearly shows that it is SD. If your card slot is different, tell me. Then I am wrong.
Have you installed the HP drivers for the card reader?

  • Thx_nb Mar 28, 2008

I agree, the driver you have is a later version.

I really like the solution of your 'problem'! :-D
It is a little different than other problems ;-)
Couldn't think of such an easy solution (didn't know you age, of course), but I really had to laugh about it :-D

Success with your microSD card and Adapter

There no such thing as archiving questions here.
I understand your problem as you get e-mails if some guest posts a stupid message like above, but as far as I know it's not possible.
If you don't think you have more questions, or if you just don't want to get e-mails from fixya anymore, you can unsubscribe. Check the bottom lines of the mail you get, there is a link there (it's a small font) :D

By the way, could you rate this question for me, if you feel the problem has been solved, you may rate it FixYa...

There is sound drivers for compaq v3000 v3424tu

Your model uses XP drivers from V3000T cto page.Intel Chipset Installation first with a reboot before other drivers. For audio,MS UAA with a reboot before Conexant.
Others can be done in any order,Ricoh Card Reader,HP Quick Launch, etc are all there. Check your hardware now to determine the graphics driver and wireless needed from there, but I believe you have Intel 945GM graphics and Intel wireless.

for the actual drivers. Should be all set!

How to use the built in 5 in 1 card reader in acer extensa 4230? and how to download music into a sandisk microsd 2gb card using the built in card reader inacer extensa 4230?

I am glad to HELP YOU!

That "5 in 1 card reader" is exactly what it says it is: a UNIVERSAL CARD READER.
All you have to do is to insert the card into the slot and the machine will detect it automatically and will read it.
The microSD cards should be inserted first into a microSD card adapter and after that the both should be inserted into the slot.
As for downloading music right on the microSD card do like this:
# insert the microSD card into its adapter [together should look like a regular SD card]
# insert the adapter into the slot
# the machine will detect the SD card [just wait until it is detected]
# choose your song [mp3, wma etc.]
# right-click on the song and where it asks whre to be downloaded you will choose MY COMPUTER > double-click > the letter corresponding to your SD card.
You're done!
Do the same with all songs.

... and don't forget to RATE, please...

Can i insert my microSD card from my cell phone into my laptop?

It depends on your laptop configuration If the laptop has the microSD reader in it definitely it will read it. If the laptop does not have that reader you have to purchase one multi card reader having the same(microSD card reader). So insert the microSD card in the laptop at concerned card reader location or insert the card in the purchased/collected multi card reader - it will definitely work.

I have a hp pavilion a6631it and i don't have a driver i o instalato xp sul mio pc ma non suporta xp, o bisogni di driver.

Here the download link, this solution base on my blog post. you can read it here:

Intel Chipset,(install and reboot before other drivers):
Intel® 3, 900 Series Chipsets

Intel X3100 onboard graphics:

Realtek ethernet:

Motorola Modem:

Youcan use drivers from dv6000t cto series to fill in missing drivers forIntel Pro Wireless,Synaptics,HP Quick Launch,Media CardReader,Lightscribe software,Bluetooth.

(No audio, graphics,chipset,from here)

Use the drivers from dv9000t to fill any missing, such as Intel Pro Wireless,Ricoh Card Reader,Synaptics.

You will still be missing one driver for HP Quick Launch buttons.

It is,here:

Additional driver, only necessay if our machine have them:

intel graphics:

If you have the Nvidia card option use this, recently recommended by another downgrader:

Theothers for Intel Pro Wireless,Synaptics,Webcam,Lightscribe,RicohCardreader, etc you can use from dv6000 page.(Only you know if you haveall the hardware that drivers are provided for.)

Hp Quick Launch link at HP is dead, use the I posted above.

If you have the Fingerprint device.

AuthenTec Inc. AES2501 Fingerprint Sensor:
sp35741.exe 1/1 (7.41M)

SD card reader

1) There is SD card reader on pavilion dv 1000, so you need adapter in which you insert mini SD card to make it SD
2) If you have that adapter, check adapter. Maybe it's broken.
3) If your card is biger, like 2GB or higher you may try updatenig drivers (I read on one web page: " There was a software update for support of reading and using higher memory SD cards, for my pavilion ZV5000, on the HP Software update website." )
