Download the installer for whatever version of IE you would like to use to your desktop. Next go into the control panel and then to add and remove programs. Uninstall the current version of IE then reboot and reinstall IE from the installer on your desktop.

Cannot attach files in yahoo e-mail. I using Win7 and Explorer 9.

Try using a different browser such as mozilla or google chrome, if you're able to attach files there it means that the problem is with your IE9, you can try downgrading to IE8 then upgrade it again to IE9 and check if you still has the same problem.
Hope this help.

How can i downgrade IE8?

Just uninstall IE8. Find the Control Panel (in XP it's in the Start menu) and select Add or Remove Programs. Find IE8, select it, and select Uninstall. Your computer will return to IE7 or whatever earlier version you have installed. IE8 is known to be incompatible with McAfee antivirus.

Ever since upgrading to Internet Explorer 8, I find that I cannot print emails, open up many attachments, and retrieve other information. For example, if I click on a link, I get the following message:...

Ther are known conflicts with Vista and IE8 - particularly with Vista 64-bit.

I would suggest uninstalling IE8 and reinstalling IE7 or using an alternative browser such as "slimbrowser" (excellent program) or similar.

IE8 can be uninstall by using Add or Remove Programs module in Windows XP, but in Windows Vista, Windows Internet Explorer 8 is not considered to be a ‘program’. Instead, IE8 is categorizing as an ‘update’. Thus, users will not be able to find Windows Internet Explorer 8 in “Programs and Features” of Windows Vista.

To uninstall Internet Explorer 8, go to Control Panel, and click on Uninstall Programs link or Programs and Features icon. Then on Tasks pane on the left, click on View installed updates link. Locate and select Windows Internet Explorer 8 in the list of installed updates, and then click on Uninstall button. Click on Yes when asked that are you sure want to uninstall the update.

If there is no option of IE8 been found on “Programs and Features” or “Add or Remove Programs” dialog box, or uninstallation of Internet Explorer 8 is unclean (causing error message such as setup cannot continue because a more recent version of Internet Explorer has been detected on this computer when trying to downgrade to IE7), try to manually run the spuninst.exe.
To do so, go to C:\WINDOWS\ie8\spuninst\ folder (your drive letter may be different), and run spuninst.exe.

Restart the computer after uninstallation completed.

Hope that helps :)

This is a known fault with IE8...loads of things aren't compatible with it.

I suggest staying on IE7 for the forseeable future.

IE8 freezes all the time for a few seconds

Try another browser like firefox 3.5 or google chrome. I recommend google chrome because it is really fast and has a nice user interface. If you really want to stay with IE, you can downgrade back to IE7, by going into windows update and deleting the update for IE8. I hope this helps!

I had the same problem. I had IE7 and installed IE8. IE8 caused a lot of problems, so I used system restore. I was back to IE7 but it was not functioning properly. I had to downgrade to IE6 and then reinstall IE7. Its all back to normal. What a pain
