1 long beep, 2 short beeps

suggests hat for Asus systems, 1 long beep, two short beeps is characteristic of a RAM fault. The video card does not determine the beeps, it is the system BIOS of your computer which determines the beep codes (and what the fault is of course)
If your computer is not an ASUS, but some other brand but with an ASUS video card the beep code may mean something different.

NO ONBOARD VIDEO

Hello here is the ASUS homepage:

http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=P5N73-AM&p=1&s=22

Here is a list of beep codes:

http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm

Your pci-e graphic card is failing or has a defect.
The problem could also be the power supply, not giveing enough power.
When you add a pci-e graphic card on the mainboard, the onboard graphic should deactivate itselves.
Try to remove the pci-e graphic card, and use the onboard graphic.
If still no picture, change the power supply.
Its not possible to change settings in the bios blindfolded.
You can reset the bios by removeing the cmos battery.
But ofcouse it could also be the mainboard itselves failing.
This is rarely happening, so i hope its just the power supply.
Try also to look for visual defects on the mainboard, especially the condensators on the mainboard.

Good luck

1 long beep and then 3 short beeps

Hello here is the homepage:

Here is a list of beep codes:

It seems to be a graphic card problem, or the power supply not giveing enoug power.

Try to change the graphic card.

If you are useing the onboard graphic, look for bad caps on the mainboard:

If they look like this, the mainboard is dead.

Good luck

I installed the en8400gs512m into an older compaq with onboard video and audio. after i installed the videocard i no longer had onboard audio. when i removed the en8400gs i had onboard audio back. how can...

I suppect this is a driver problem. Install the EN8400GS in your computer and then install the drivers for it if you haven't already done so. What you want to do is to reinstall the on-board audio drivers for your mainbaord. They can be found on the CD disk that came with your computer, or they can be downloaded form the manufactures website.

Alternatively it could aso be possible that their is a BIOS option to enable on-board audio when a graphics card is installed. Press delete repeatedly on powering on your computer.

Take care!

I have recently built a new PC with an Asus P8H61-M and upon turning the PC on I am recieving no Visual on either of my monitors

Hello

If this is the first time to turn you on your computer check first the power supply of your computer if connected to their proper connector. Check your memory if clip properly in there memory slot. If you are using Video Card check it if it is properly connected to the connector. Then connect your VGA connector at the back of your computer when you have video card connect the VGA Cable of you monitor to the video card VGA output if does not have connect it with the onboard VGA output. Then press the power switch if the unit is still no visual in monitor try to search or hear a beeping sound in your computer by its on board buzzer. Find which beep you hear from your computer.

No Beep- No Power, Loose Card, or Short.
One Short Beep- Normal Post,, Computer is OK.
2 Short Beep- POST error, review screen for error code
Continues Beep- No power, Loose Card, or Short
Repeating Short Beep- No Power Loose Card or Short
One Long And Short Beep- Motherboard Issue
One Long and Two Short Beep- Video (mono/CGA Display Circuitry) Issue.
One long and three short beep- Video (EGA) Display Circuitry
Three Long Beep- Keyboard/ Keyboard Card Error
One Beep, Blank or Incorrect Display -Video Display Circuitry

Hope this help with your problem. Keep on touch in fixya

Bios code 1x long, 2x short. according to other forums it's a videocard issue, but this one has got an onboard video card. what do I do now?

One long and two short beeps is actually a RAM error code, not video. Remove your memory and reinstall it, making sure it's properly latched. The modules sometimes work loose. If the error continues and you have only a single module installed, replace it. Otherwise remove both modules and reinstall one at a time. If only one is bad, the system will start up with the good one.

That beep code is either a RAM or Video card issue depending on motherboard. It may be that when the fan went down it burnt out the video card slot & onboard video. Without physically seeing the board I couldn't tell for sure, but that is definately what the beep code is pointing to. Also make sure that when you are using a video card that you have the 6, or 8 pin power plug connected to it. As well as making sure both the main 20, or 20+4 psu plug and the 4, or 8 pin psu plug are connected to the mb. Hope this helps.

The on board video can be disabled in the cmos. Get in your setup and try to find it under "video". Also check your hcl for compatability.
