What size capacitor in a Carrier Heat Pump 38yh036300

This is a three ton heatpump must likely it is a 35/5uf capacitor. But if you can read compressor tag it will tell you size it requires and also fan label will do some for it.you will need to ask for a dual capacitor from supply house make sure you pay close attention to hoe wires hook up so you can wire in new on before removing wires make sure you have high voltage turned off to unit.take pic with phone this will help when you rewire

Replace compacitor on Carrier 5 ton 3 phase AC

Your 3 phase unit should not have a capacitor. I'm guessing it's single phase. If it's a single capacitor than the compressor should not be going to it also. To test the motor, common to start plus common to run should equal the ohms you get between start and run. For instance, 1.2 ohms+ 2.2 ohms= 3.4 ohms. Follow the wiring diagram on the inside of the door, send model number!!

Do no what wires go where on the capacitor for our carrier a/c unit

Some capacitor start motors have two brown leads (one with white stripe) that go to capacitor. Others wire into the start winding, if that is the case follow wiring diagram on the motor. Also if this is in an A/C unit follow the wiring diagram in the unit (usually on inside of cover)

I am a ac tech, and i was working on a old carrier unit, wich had no schematic diagram. I need it in order to get the compressors going. if i give you a model # can you please provide one. roof top ac...

you aren't an ac tech number one but i shall overlook that . your question is llike will the sun come up in the north or the south tomorrow. obviously in the east as it has since the earth was created. anyway. all compressors since the beginning of time wire up the same .a wire commonly referred to as the common goes from the contactor to the compressor. usually black in color, hence the old coloqualism Blacks are common. the run wire is from the contactor to the run side of the run capacitor or from the contactor to the run connection on the compressor. hence the old slogan reds run when you point a gun at them. the only wire left is the start wire that come from the start capacitor and is usually yellow . hence the old saying blacks are common, reds run, and yellows are always starting something. very ethnic i know but thats how i was taught.now that the wirings correct check to see volts through contactor are correct and if one side of contactor is not feeding. if volts good then check capacitors with a cap checker. if all else looks good kill power and inspect compressor terminals at compressor. if burned off consider a termilock kit good luck..
