Panasonic TZ3 - buttons wont work

The camera will turn on, the shutter will open up and the LCD will update as I turn the wheel through the different modes, but none of the other buttons (menu, zoom, picture-taking, trash, etc) will work.  How can I get my camera to respond?

the only thing that works is the mode dial... it wont take pictures or zoom.

Cable connecting the back panel buttons to main board processor may be internittent. You can buy a service/repair manual from ebay that shows how to dis/assembly.

Barring this, let it drop about 4 inches to a hard service covered with two paper towels on its bottom. Doesn't have to land exactly flat. This is equivalent to giving it a rap with a semi-hard(wood/plastic) rod.

Also try pressing ******* shell around the buttons, not the button itself, while pressing button as normal.

I know this sounds a little hoakie, but this sort of treatment can cause a connection to make contact, or make a contact temporarily, indicating a connection problem of some sort.,

How do I defeat the flash on a Panasonic DMC-TZ3?

In the Flash menu, there is an option for Forced Flash Off. Press the Flash button to the right of the Menu button. Then use the up down arrows to move to this option. (It's at the bottom of the list.) Then press Menu to set the option to the Flash Off. This is shown on page 36 of the manual for the DMC-TZ3. I found a copy of the manual here: http://panasonic.ae/en/manuals/DMC-TZ3.pdf .

Your pictures may have exposure or blurring issues in this mode. The shutter will stay open longer to attempt to gather enough light.

I hope this helps.

Camera lens shutter does NOT OPEN!

Seriously this is not worth payi.g to fix unless you paid serious money for the camera. The shutter is also mechanixally tripped by the shutter button. Its a electrical charge that connects to the processing chip inside.

When I turn my Panasonic Lumix PMC-TZ3 on the lens does not open at all.... Please Help!!

Digital cameras have too many circuit connectors that could develop contact resistance without boundary lubricants. Cheaper to buy a new digital camera.

Tz3 locked-up. everything seemed as if it shut

The shutter is locked (temporarily); probably because a picture was taken of absolute darkness ... the camera is trying to save the image.

Remove the batteries...

How tu use video recording..

Hi,

The picture that I posted shows a TZ3 mode dial. I added a blue arrow to point out an icon on the mode dial.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Turn the mode dial on the camera so this icon is selected.
2. Switch on the camera.
3. Aim the camera at your subject, press the shutter button halfway to focus, then press it fully to begin the video. (Just as you would take a picture.)
4. To stop taking video, press the shutter button fully again.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

~When a video starts being taken, its current length will appear on the camera's LCD screen.
~Videos take up more space on the memory card than do pictures.
~If an SD memory card becomes full while recording, then the video will stop automatically.
~Videos can be played back on the camera's "PLAYBACK" mode. They can also be viewed on a TV or downloaded to a computer.
