In order to find a solution for your problem we need to know for how long you have used your device. I mean if you have used the device for a long time, it is obvious that your player's battery will be dead. So try to check the power of your battery using a multimeter.

My son has a Samsung YP-K3 2gb mp3 player ... he accidentally pressed auto power on the screen and now the mp3 player has frozen and he can't turn it off ???

There is a reset button on the mp3 player. Try pressing it using a paperclick or a pin. After reset try to connect it back to your computer. Hope this helps.

    Make sure lock/hold not engaged

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

I have the same problem. you need to press in the "reset" button with a paperclip for it to shut off. You won't lose the music. You should make sure you power off the device before unplugging it from the USB.
