Does F2 mean to enter setup or does F12 mean to enter setup, Press the particular key on the keyboard to enter setup and Go to Exit using your up-down keys on the keyboard (it varies with different motherboards) and go to Load Optimized Default then Yes and press F10 - Yes and it will automatically restart the system, windows wont start. dont know how it happened. - b2.jpg if both are not displaying anything to do, restart the system and press Delete button and follow the same instructions as mentioned above. (If the BIOS screen is similar as displayed above, then just highlight the Load Optimized Default using your Up and Down Keys on the keyboard {Y for yes, Enter for OK}).. It's will boot from the hard disk as default not from the CD-rom..Good luck...

Dell latitude e4200 restarts with blue screen

Sounds like the image doesn't have the right drive controller driver included. Could be because the image was created on a different laptop or could be the drive controller is configured differently. You can confirm this from the STOP error code on the blue screen

Go into the BIOS setup (probably F2 at boot) and see if the controller mode is set to AHCI. If so, set it to compatibility or combined(?) and try again.

Either way, if you've installed an image for the wrong hardware, you probably should do a remedial install. Boot from your Windows XP disc and follow the prompts as if you were doing a clean install until you get to the license agreement. At the next screen, it should show you any existing Windows installs and give you a new option to repair. Let this go - it won't touch any user files, just replace all the Windows files with those from the CD. Have your system drivers and service packs handy to tidy up when it's done.

I want to wipe my hard drive completely, and i downloaded dariks nuke and boot. but i dont know how to open my bios and do it. so how would i go about opening my bios? i own a dell inspiron 1525

To get in to bios you have to reboot and once screen turns black keep on pressing F2 key but dont hold it down but tap it and it will bring you in to bios menu. Some dell's use "Del" (delete) key so if this is the case just do same thing instead of tapping F2 just keep on tapping "Del" key. This will take you into bios. If this daris nuke does not work just put in your windows cd and reboot and on black screen just keep on tapping key F12 and this will ether give you boot menu to choose form and you need to choose cd or dvd rom or sometimes it will go in to it right away and it will say "press any key to boot from a cd-rom" so you can press any key on keyboard (like space bar) and then choose option to install windows and not repair, choose delete partition which is usually like couple screens(one is letter L and one is just delete) and then choose install windows and choose quick or normal format. Once formatting is done it will start the new install. Good luck.

Windows wont start. dont know how it happened.

press F2 to go to the system setup, then press arrow down to highlight Standard CMOS feature, then press enter. Verify if the hard drive is detected, mostly it is installed in SATA 0 and you should see like a serial no of the Hard drive. If the hard drive is not detected, you might need to reseat the cables of the hard drive inside the computer. Make sure that all the cables at the back of computer is unplugged to be safe. After you reseat the hard drive cable, plug cables at the back of the computer then turn on computer and press F2, verify if the hard drive is detected, if still not, try to swap the connection of the hard drive and the dvd drive of the computer. Plug back the cables and turn on comp and press again F2, this time the the dvd drive should be on the SATA 0 and hard drive should be on the oter SATA port. If the hard drive is still not detected, you need to replace the hard drive, but if the hard drive is detected on the other SATA port and the dvd drive is not detected on SATA 0 then you need to replace the mother board.

How can I format my inspiro 1525 laptop

1. Backup all your documents and files that you like to use after format.
2. Insert your windows bootable cd and enable/turn first booting from cd-rom from BIOS setup (usually when you press del or F2 on computer starting).
3. After restart computer asks to press any key to boot from windows cd.
4. Then you get blue screen with lot of funny text you can read all that if you like or press next then choose format drive c: NTFS and follow instructions.
5. After installation you get nice clean desktop without these annoying icons. First thing you may like to do is install all missing drivers. If you dont have original drivers cd then you can download them from dell support site you may backup network drivers to usb memorystick before format if you dont have original drivers cd.

6. Have fun :)
