Hey Martha, I believe your problem is with your windows firewall, I just recently had a similar problem, I install Ouka on my pc, which i just re installed windows on, anyway, it worked great when i first started it to test it, then when i restarted pc it would not connect. The problem was my windows firewall(btw I run mcafee as my primary firewall), even though the ports were set and Ouka was allowed.. To correct the problem, first i deleted Ouka from my windows firewall, then i deleted the ouka program from my pc, turned off mcafee firewall, turned on windows firewall, re downloaded the ouka file and when i started the program again, windows firewall asked if i should block or unblock ouka, I unblocked it, set up the port. then i turned off my windows firewall, turned on my mcafee firewall and Ouka is working great ever since, even after restarts. Hope this helps, if not check out winmxworld.com forum I have posted there my problems/solutions for Ouka. Good Luck, Lisadee

I recently purchased a Netgear N600 Wireless router connected to my Comcast Motorola Surfboard SB5120 modem. I have a Comcast plan of 20 Mbps but through www.speedtest.net am consistently getting 8 Mbps...

I think its the modem that you need to upgrade. Comcast is already running on DOCSIS 3.0 system. The SB5120 modem that you have is a DOCSIS 2.0 modem. You may need to have your modem replaced with a DOCSIS 3.0 modem like the Motorola SB6120.

Is the Motorola SBG900 cable modem gateway a router- that is will it enable file sharing between the computers that share the gateway (one wired, one wireless). If so how is this set up?

you should be able to set up a home network you will have to enable file sharing, if you run through the network setup wizzard in the control pannel it should be fairly straightforward

How do I hook up a Berklin wireless router to my comcast internet

Use an Ethernet cable to connect the port on the Comcast modem to the WAN port on the Berklin (Belkin????) router.
Use another Ethernet cable to connect one of the LAN ports on the router to the Ethernet port on your computer.
Start Internet Explorer on your computer.
Connect to the web-interface inside the router.
Run the "network setup wizard".
Run the "wireless setup wizard".

Connection

Go to this site to download a manual to verify you have it setup right.
http://www.d-link.com/products/?tab=3&pid=WBR-1310&rev=WBR-1310
or try this first.
Power off your modem,D-Link and PC.
You need to have the cable that looks like a wide phone plug with 8 contacts instead of 4 (cat 5 cable) go from your comcast modem to the plug on back of the D-Link that is marked WAN.
Then plug a cat 5 cable into any of the 1 through 4 Lan ports on back of the D-Link to your PC's Ethernet port.
Then with all these powered off turn on the Comcast modem, wait a full 2 minutes for it to settle in. then turn on the D-Link give it 2 minutes then turn on your PC.
If that doesn't work for you refer to the manual or you have something broke that may require servicing in person by someone computer savvy.
Hope this helps.
