Question about Heaters

Our heater won't light

We've recently moved into a new house and the previous owners haven't left the instruction manual. we're not sure whether it's broken or we simply aren't doing it right. when we turn the ignition knob around and then press it down we hear the clicking sound that means it's trying to ignite the pilot light but it doesn't light it. we've tried everything we can think of but nothing works. please help- it's very cold without it

You may have a blockage in the pilot orifice. You may need to remove the pilot assembly and clear any obstruction in the orifice. The end of the orifice is about the size of the tip on a straight pin. Make sure you bleed the gas line if you have not used it before. There could be air in the line. Good luck.

Hi We recently bought a house that has an 40 series Vulcan oil heater in it. Can anyone tell me how to light it. It has a knob on top with numbers from 1 - 5 (2 being ignite). A lever on the bottom that...

Make sure the tank outside has oil ( Kerosene) in it. Check the fuel tap (under the tank) is turned on. When you press and hold the heat control button, it should ignite after a few minutes. The lever on the bottom is the fan control switch (high speed or low speed fan) Make sure that the unit is plugged into the power. If I remember correctly, a red light appears to say it is powered up on the bottom left hand side.

My light won't ignite on my mpi 441 monitor

this morning my heater, monitor 411, was running fine as always.
while it was running the power company came to work on a pole and turned the power off. it was down for about three hours. once power was restored it wouldn't come on.
the pilot light is off but I'm not sure if it's suppose to be while not running.I've tried priming it with three pumps, resetting by unplugging, beleeding the line, all don't work.
it's suppose to be 22f tonight so I could sure use some help.
oh, I have a manual but, of course, it doesn't cover the problem. I also called the company but got a voice mailbox...go figure.
somebody please help!
