Two beeps generally means RAM failure, so it's better for you to check the RAM or replace using another from your friend or you can try your's to another PC so that you an make sure which one is the fault. If this isn't the problem, then you need to clean the motherboard and its components, blow away all the dusts, and reinsert everything after cleaning, you can use brush or rubber eraser to clean the tip of the ram or pci cards etc.... Good luck..

ABC diagnostic lights are green and D is yellow. Ram only works if slot 1 is used. If slot 1 and 3 are used Bios appears on the monitor with a flashing cursor. Dell dimension 8400

A,B,C green and D yellow is indicative of a component failure...in that the system cannot read a device it feels necessary to boot the machine such as a hard drive, floppy or cd/dvd drive. Power down the system, remove the power cord from the back, push the power button in for 10 seconds to bleed off the power. Remove and reseat all cables connecting the system devices. Remove all ram except for one stick and reboot. If you get boot, then try replacing the ram one stick at a time. If you still cannot boot though, try removing the cables from the devices and then plug in one a time until you get the machine to boot. If there is still a problem, the hard drive or its controller maybe the culprit.

Have you tried with another Known, good & working keyboard? If not, try it first. If the problem persists, then you have to clear the NVRAM using the jumper (if a mere re-seat of the CMOS coin-cell didn't work). To locate the jumper, consult the user manual. Also, re-seating the memory modules (RAM modules) is known to have resolved this.

Iv tried yo many keyboard even dell and mouses and nothing at first says keyboard controller failure

Hi,
The problem could be caused due to system setup lockup. Kindly disconnect all the devices from the back of the computer including the power cord. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds.

Open the system chassis and remove the cmos battery to reset your motherboard.
The following link would help you do the same.
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim2400/en/sm_en/rmvcvr.htm

Once you have reseated the cmos. Connect the monitor keyboard and power cord and start the computer and check for the problem

Thanks for using fixya

Dear Sir, Re: Laptop NEC Versa E6300. When I am using the keyboard a,b,c,...I get the wrong letters. Somebody told me I have pressed the ''Fn'' key by mistake. Please help & thanks. Regards Sheik A...

The fn key would convert most abc keys into function keys not make them produce other letters. You may have changed your region settings or your keyboard style. Both can be changed under the control panel under keyboard settings.

Sound like you have a stuck key and the bip noise is the keyboard buffer pverloading.
If you can't unstick this key, you need a new keyboard.

If you aren't comfortable with using Graffiti 2 (manually writing on the provided pad) then call up the Z22 keyboard (tap the ABC symbol on the top left of the entry pad) and then tap Shift and the (/); that's the slash button on the bottom right corner of the keyboard. If you are interested in learning more about Graffiti 2 input for your device, try reading this PalmOne article or download the Graffiti 2 Alphabet or Graffiti 2 Tips & Tricks guide.
