This is not so simple.. First, I would suggest, that if you recently bought it, or still have a warrenty, use that option.. Second, call sony and see if they have any input..

You can buy a slide card for this exact purpose, but if you don't want to spend the money, here ya go:

follow the intructions here on how to make your own slide card:

And follow the instructions here on how to manually open the device driver:

Tip

Xbox 360 tray stuck closed

This is a common problem with many older units.
When you press eject the light flashes on the box
and the screen says" Open tray" bu nothing happens.

The cause is a weak eject motor , that is unable to
break the magnetic seal holding the cd rom against the
spindle .

If you press eject wait 1 second then smack the top
of the box HARD right over the cd rom drive your tray will
open .

The fix for this is to clean out the drive and re-lube all the
tracks and guides ,also gap the magnet in the upper hub
so it holds the cd with a little less force .That will enable
the motor to break the seal with out stallingout

Everytime aye go 2 play my xbox takes about 10 minutes 2 read the game and keeps askin 2 open the tray???

Normally it's the laser , but this also may be caused
by a weak or stiff spindle motor , if you open the cd rom drive
the spindle should turn freely if there is a lot of resistance
it's sizing up ,

The best remedy for this is to buy the same make drive
and swap old drives P.C. board to the new drive .
there are many source's for 360 cd rom drives. Cost 40.00

If you have any question's just comment and ill respond.

Wot spin the disc

The issue that you are having is that the motor and/or cd-rom/dvd-rom drive for your ps2 has gone bad which has actually occurred with a lot of slimline playstation 2's.

Cant eject my disc

Dear! It is the fault about belt of a CD/ DVD Rom. You can remove this fault if you can change the belt that is inside the CD/ DVD Rom. And if you want to eject your disk as soon as possible? Use a pin and put inside the very small hole of CD/ DVD Rom and press under your controle slowly. Your disk will open.
Thank you.

I HAVE A DISC JAMMED INSIDE WON'T OPEN OR PLAY HELP.....

check out internal wiring connection of CD ROM.the loose connection may create problem.
if connections are proper then check whether ur CD ROM working properly or not by connecting to another cpu.

i hv one master soln on it.but u hv to do it very carefully. 1st start pc then take a sharp thin stick & push it softly in lower small space of CD ROM & pull out it gently.
but it only possible if u put the cd properly in CD ROM.
so try it ,it defntly works.

dont forget to feedback me.

Put cd in then it says open tray wont play cd

Hi. this open tray code is caused by a failed limit switch that is responsible for sending a signal to the optical assembly, confirming that the tray is totally closed and ready to read the disk. this switch is part of the drive and, it is recommended to replace the DVD-ROM drive in this case.

My 360 wont ******* play

i had the same problem. listen to your xbox cd rom and if you hear it start up and kinda skip or make a weird stopping sound then your disc drive/ cd-rom is wearing out. either send it in or do what i did and start by just giving the center to the center left above your cd-rom a nice few taps in a row while its spinning before it stops. fairly good knocks on the case will help it. i ended up really hittin mine a lot of time in row after about a month. sometimes it will put rings on your games thought but they buff out. i even took it apart but theres not much you can do
