Question about Tunturi T20 Folding Programmable Treadmill

Treadmill Tunturi T 20 keeps inclining upward by itself

The treadmill, without being programmed to do so, inclines upwards and this has now become steep so that my father (in his 80's) cannot use it.

The incline is stuck upward, and makes a noise.

The best place to start with a stuck incline, is to re-calibrate your incline motor on the machine.

Each treadmill has different ways to do so, to find out how to get into calibration mode you will have to refer back to your manual.

Regarding my Tunturi j800 stuck in the incline position: thanks Tim for the response. I'd love to manually lower it, but there is no flat head screw on any metal-encased fan. The only fan belon

Dear Sir:You must RUN the software calibration for easy diagnose, troubleshooting, and fix it. After that you need adjust the speed sensor, see the diagram attached, clean, and tight the connector very well. Then you can lube the gear and shaft from elevation motor b) adjust the potentiometer c) test the elevation motor. But first RUN s. callibration.
sincerely. God bless you5_4_2012_11_45_43_am.gif

The machine just goes into auto calibrating on the screen and beeps constantly. does not stop auto calibrating Just seems unable to cope with any programs to do with hill climbs

When starting my treadmill the incline just starts all by itself, all the way up, sounds like it would keep going if it could, then it declines, its stuck in this loop. the belt never starts and I cannot...

This sounds like the treadmill is running an incline calibration. It will run to fully inclined, then to minimum incline.
It should not do this every time you want to operate the machine, but they will do it automatically if the operation of the machine is stopped by the power being interrupted..

Proform 350s crosstrainer treadmill; surges 3 MPH to 4MPH

Walking Belt is Worn: The only certain way to test for a worn walking belt is to take a DC amp draw (if you have a DC treadmill) or an AC draw (for AC). Trying to look at the belt or a feel test is highly unreliable. Better tests, if you lack a DC ammeter (they are expensive for a good one), are a coast test or an incline test. The coast test is to get on the treadmill as the lowest incline setting and walk on the treadmill at 3 MPH. Pull the safety key and it should take you 2-3 full steps to stop (this is a general rule…some like a few Tunturi models stop on a dime even with a healthy belt but for most models, this tests works well upon). Fewer steps indicate high friction. The incline test is to put the treadmill at max incline and walk on it at 3 MPH. If the treadmill operates normally at max incline but bogs down at minimum incline, replace the walking belt. Gravity takes over for the drive system eliminating much of the friction problem. On some heavily worn walking belts, this test will not eliminate the problem. Go to your local hard ware store and purchase silicone spray. Apply Lubricant by lift one side of the running belt spray contents length wise starting at motor shroud to the back end repeat this process on the other side. If this unit bogs down again then you will have replace the running belt and possibly the deck

Treadmill stops when i incline it

Start your unit without any body on it, then increase incline and see if the unit shuts down if it does not then the first thing I would do is lubricate the deck if no maintenance has ever been done on the unit refer to your owners for the procedure. After lubricating the deck proceed with normal operation of the unit. If this do not take care of the problem you may have a worn belt and deck thus causing too much power to be draw thus shutting it down.

Hi i have a code E7 that show on my upper board in my tunturi t20 treadmill. dealer told me to change electronic lower board . i change the part and nothing change. do you know what is the problem? thanks...

Pull the connector off the incline motor off then connect (usually red and black thick leads) your multi - meter then select ohm X1 you should get a reading about 1.7 ohms. then check if the motor see if it is stuck. Then wrap a peice of cloth around the incline screw and with a pair of vise grip gently apply enough pressure to see if you can unstick that screw, reset your power and if the error code clears up, if not the VR control in the motor can be defective and you must rplace the motor.
If the reading show open I would suspect the motor is bad then again replace of the motor.

Incline stuck- keep going up and dopwn. Treadmill

I had the SAME problem, several times, with my NordicTrack A2250 Treadmill.
Allow it to go fully up and then fully down several times, without turning it off. IT seems to "cycle" that way 3 times and then "reboots" itself and starts working normally, again.
I had to figure this out myself... none of the suggestions I read worked.
