Same principle as a reflex telescope- might Wikipedia Schmidt-cassegrain OR reflex telescope for more info. Long glass lenses need a lot of correction for fact that different wavelengths refract at different angles, while those same beams of light bend the same when reflected.

A single-lens reflex (SLR) camera typically has a mirror directing the view from the lens through an optical viewfinder except when actually exposing the picture. A bridge camera uses an electronic viewfinder taking the image from the sensor. A SLR also usually offers interchangeable lenses while bridges do not. Bridges tend to be smaller and lighter, but usually at the cost of a smaller image sensor.
See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-lens_reflex_camera and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridge_camera

Camera choice is a personal decision. You want a camera that works best for you, not for someone else. You won't go wrong with any of the major brands.

What camera does my lens goto

This lens will fit onto any Nikon SLR, analog or digital. It will also fit onto the new Nikon 1 series with the FT-1 adapter.
Be aware that this lens will not autofocus with any camera. You will also lose metering capability with all but the upper-end cameras.

What is the difference in Point & Shoot, SLR and DSLR, in digital cameras?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-lens_reflex_camera
See the above for complete details but a SLR is a film-based camera (35mm) single-lens-reflex. Going to digital cameras which do not use film but have digital chips to capture the image, a point-and-shoot camera is smaller and does not have interchangeable lens and is for the amatuer while the D-SLR is more for high-end images and has lenses which you can interchange along with more features and costs more.

I recently bought a Nikon FG, and when i look through the viewfinder all i see is black. I made sure the lens cap it's on, and its still black! I need to replace the batteries, but will that fix the...

Take the lens off the camera and look inside. you should see a mirror angled at 45 degrees. If you do not see the mirrir, it is probably stuck in the up position and repair is necessary

I am confused. Is the N 75 an SLR or 35 mm. My daughter needs a 35 mm for a photography course. She has an N 75.

Both. The Nikon N75 is a 35mm SLR camera. 35mm refers to the size of the film the camera uses. SLR (single-lens-reflex) refers to the design of the camera, which uses the same lens for both viewing and photographing, the film sees the same image you see in the viewfinder.

There are other 35mm cameras that are not SLRs. Likewise, there are SLRs that use other sizes of film.

HELP APERTURE PROBLEM! When I attach any lens to the Nikon FM10

This is normal. the lens stay at the largest opening so you can see to focus, then the mechanics will close to the setting when the exposure is made. This is part of the reflex in single lens reflex (SLR). This part staying open when you focus keeps lyou from having to open the aperture to focus and then close it to the correct setting to shoot the picture.

I AM A FIRST TIME OWNER OF A PENTAX K100 .DOES THIS CAMERA HAVE A VIEW THROUGH LCD MODE BEFORE YOU SHOOT AND IF SO HOW DO I SWITCH THIS MODE ON

No, since this camera is an SLR, (single lens reflex), The shutter covers the imaging sensor until a picture is taken. The sensor would have to be exposed to provide an image preview on the LCD display screen. This feature is available in newer high end models made by Nikon and Canon, added a second sensor I'm guessing

Canon EDS 30D Viewfinder Off during Picture Taking Works to Display Picture Taken How do I turn back on?

The EOS 30D does not have "live view". (Most SLR digital cameras made before 2007 do not.) By definition, an SLR (single lens reflex) camera looks through the same lens with the viewfinder as it uses when taking the picture.

So there is no way to see the picture on the LCD before the picture is taken, like you can with compact digital cameras. You compose the picture through the optical viewfinder, then shoot.

D70s lcd screen is black

The D70S is a SLR (single lens reflex). You cannot use the LCD for taking pictures like the small compact digital cameras. There is no way for the CCD sensor to have any image prior to taking since it is behind the mirror and the shutter is closed.
