Thanks for your suggestions. I checked the PCBs as you have stated but did not find any fault on the board or the jacks and soldering too. I bought this product from ebay and the local agent here does not provide any support nor they are willing to repair it as it was not purchased from them. Please give me any other suggestion as I don't have any other choice but try to repair it by myself. What do you think the cause of the white vertical lines be? It is evenly distributed all over the screen and it is also there even no source is selected or connected. (In the menu or test pattern also)

The lines are caused by inactive lines in the digital mirror device (DMD). Since they disappear when you press on the board then it's an faulty contact. Unfortunately in most DLP projectors the DMD is soldered to the image board thru a BGA connections - al the connections are behind the chip - so there's nothing you can do to them.
If you're lucky it's only the connector to the board on which the DMD is soldered is at fault - reseat it. If it's not it then it's unfixable, sorry, you need a new projector.

If you can't see a fault and all the jacks work ok the the problem is in the DMD soldered connection itself. Unfixable unless you replace the entire unit, which will cost you surely more than what you paid for it. Sorry , you bought a dud.

above is a service manual, it is not for your exact model but it will give you an idea, of how to troubleshoot and hopefully repair.
It sounds like you have a bad solder join, bad connectors, or a break in the PCB. You will have to troubleshoot, if you can. Try and localize the movement to a specific spot on the PCB, examine it with a magnifying glass and check, for dry or cracked joints, or traces, also ensure any plugs are secured.
So, it is nearly always my professional opinion that one should always get a "Quote" from the manufacturers recommended service center, DELL in your case please contact a local or head office and ask for a referral to an Authorised service center. I cannot stress how important that last point is. It is even worth the cost of shipping. you see an authorised service agent, will have trained staff, trained on their brand, also they have first hand access to parts, original parts. This will actually save you money and ensure you can actually get it back fixed. Of course asking for a "Quote" also gives on the option of repair or replace. Often my clients,do not go through with repair, unless it is moderate, but in some of the more costly jobs they see it, as do i, that a replacement, with a warranty, is a better option. As an aside here, one could then tear the TV down, and sell the Known Good bits. You'd be surprised who needs parts, i myself often must by from third party sources to effect a repair. So money could be recouped, somewhat, and help out someone else

Just bought a acer h7531d dlp projector. From the first run, it shows vertical white lines even without a video source and these lines seem to drop a shadow on the video. Is this a serious issue? Didnt...

I have found that it has something to do with the ribbon between the controls and the motherboard. I had white lines which I can make come and go by adjusting the ribbon. I still have fine black line.

I just unhooked the motherboard and reseated it. Now the projector is working 100% correctly. I have not closed the case yet. It'll probably glitch on me when I do. So in my estimation it isn't that any one part is bad but rather that there are faulty connections. Getting all cable seated properly should be the fix.

It is all together and working perfectly.

What causes white vertical lines on dlp projector?

Possible fault on the mother board as there are noise on the LCD display. You might need help to sort this out if the fault does not clear even after the lamp works for some times.

Vertical line white, regular, blinking.

I don't think it's the bulb. Sounds like an LCD panel issue. Maybe one or more of the 3 LCD panels is either not working right or the unit has been dropped/jarred and the panels have moved (All three have to line up right optically to give the right colours). You need to take the projector to a qualified service centre.
I hope that solves your Problem, If so kindly accept it.
Thank You, Arjun.

VERTICAL WHITE LINES

I just read a post that said tap on the top and the line will go away. I tried it on mine and it worked! I had to tap it fairly hard. I just kept tapping harder and harder on the plastic in front of the buttons and voila! The vertical white line disappeared!
