I use this unit as a TV. When it first turned on the color is great but after about 10 minutes the color begins to fade and the screen will sometimes flicker. The picture appears reddish almost. The warning icon for lamp life kept coming on so I replaced the lamp and of course this did not alleviate the color issues.

The color flickers and then turns everything green.

Check out this thread: http://www.fixya.com/support/t138974-optoma_projector because there they say it's due to dust.

I'm having the same problems with my ep770, and am going to give it a try.

Try putting the bulb into normal (rather than eco) setting.
Check the bulb is seated correctly.
If this does not help you may have to contact your bulb supplier to see if they can swap bulb for you.

I saw an answer up above regarding the green hue on the projector, is there anyway to remedy this problem? This is really annoying to me and I would like to fix the issue. Thanks,

Three LCD block in the Panasonic projector PT-L735 green, blue and red and two polarizer use with each LCD (as show in picture below) when polarizers faded due to age or any other reason then screen show the color. In your cause the green polarizers faded and need to be replaced good_help_9.png

I have a Infocus Screen Play 5000 bulb has 324 hours the picture is light green.

try reflashing the firmware, check your cables by wiggling the ends coming out of the projector and watch the picture for any changes, if it goes to normal at any time, your cables are just worn out. if that doesn't do the trick, maybe your lcd polarizers are burnt, i really need a better description of the picture.

How to fix yellow hue center bottom of picture.what causes this

Most often color distortion is due to the bulb wearing out. Projector bulbs often fade or distort colors before they actually burn out. The other thing you can try is to reset the projector to it's factory settings, which sometimes fixes color issues. It's usually an option in the "settings" area of the menu.

Lots of details: LP120 stays on for a minute, then powers off

either the colorwheel motor is not getting up to speed to sync with the dmd chip, the wheel sensor is going, or the power supply needs replacing. you can try to replace them yourself or send it to an infocus authorized service center. try www.avsolutionsny.com . they're pretty good.

I have solved the problem (running fine for 10 days now)
I was planning to replace the bulb, but after reading the different posts, i understood it was NOT in cause.

i had to open the projector, remove and clean every part :
- the motherboard
- very dusty alim parts (radiators)
- the big fan blades (i used silicon lubricant for the rotor)
- the optical block
- the TINY RADIAL FAN IN THE OPTICAL BLOCK (very hard to clean)

advices :
1/ take pictures of what you're doing
2/ tape well the folded plastic and aluminum parts to avoid light leaks !

I have the same problem as philvo. I was watching, the projector was operating normally, I heard a snap, there was a flash of light behind me I believe, and my Mitsubishi XD300U projector went to a black and white picture. That is all it will show now. All lights show normal operation. I would like to know if it is worth getting repaired. Does anyone have any ideas?
