Question about GE 30 in. JP340 Electric Cooktop
My wife reports she turned on a burner a few days ago and heard a loud pop and saw a bright flash around the pot. The cooktop breaker blew. I turned everything off, reset the breaker, and all seems fine now. Seems fishy to me (SHORT) but I don't see how to open the cooktop. Any thoughts?
Pull the unit away from the wall and inspect from rear. However, if all is fine, perhaps you simply overloaded the circuit that once. Were you running any other appliances (overhead microwave) at the same time?
