Might be your router gateway address has changed. you can go to command prompt and type in ipconfig /all. look for default gateway and that would be your new address for your belkin.

Whats my routers hex key

The encryption (hex) key is in the router's wireless settings.
To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Belkin to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Belkin configuration URL
http://192.168.2.1
The default PW = blank (just press enter)
You can protect your router by changing the default PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption.
Apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.
Connect your DSL or cable modem to the D-Link router.

How does one setup a belkin g router. Instead of a secure connection. For the user to have to input a password to make connection

First you have to access the administrator page for your router. In the address bar where you usually type in a URL (like google.com) instead put in 192.168.2.1 and hit Enter. This will open up a page that lets you change your wireless settings. On the left side of the page, find Wireless and click it. This will open your wireless configuration. Change your SSID (that will be the name you give your network) to something you would like it to be called. You'll also want to put in the security settings which will be the PIN needed to access your network. I could walk you through this step by step but instead I'll give you the link that explains it far more thoroughly than I could. http://cache-www.belkin.com/support/dl/p74880-d_f5d9230-4_manual.pdf
You'll want to start at page B49. There probably isn't much need to read through everything in the manual to do what you want. When it comes to your PIN, make sure you either write it down or make it something easy to remember but not easy to guess.
Please keep in mind that you WILL be setting up a secure connection in order for someone to get on your network with a password.

I need help setting up my Belkin wireless G Router

Use a computer that is hard-wired (connected with an ethernet cable) to your Belkin router for this process:

1) Open Internet Explorer (or your favorite browser)

2) In the Address bar (where it says "http://www.fixya . . . " right now), delete the address that's there and type in these numbers: 192.168.2.1

3) Press the "Enter" key on your keyboard. This should open a Belkin router page. If it does NOT open a Belkin router page, follow steps 4 - 8 below. If it DOES open a Belkin router page, skip to step 9.

- - 4) Click "start" and then click "run." (On Vista, click "start")

- - 5) Type "CMD" (without the quotes) into the RUN window. (On Vista, type CMD where it says "start search.") Press the Enter key on your keyboard.

- - 6) You should now have a window open with a black background. Type "ping -r 1 www.yahoo.com" (without the quotes) and press the Enter key on your keyboard.

You will get a readout that looks something like this:

Reply from 66.94.230.43: bytes=32 time=294ms TTL=56
Route: 192.168.1.254

The number after the word "Route" is the address of your Belkin router. Write this number down.

- - 7) Close all open windows and open up Internet Explorer (or your favorite browser) again.

- - 8) Type in the address of your router.

9) On most Belkin routers, there is a section in the menu on the left that says "Wireless." Under this section is a link to "Security." Click that link, and you will see the wireless code you need to connect your laptop.

On some routers the "wireless" and "security" menus are in a different location, perhaps at the top of the page instead of on the left.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
