Received Dell XPS 8100. No cd player so they sent me one. Dell hell it is. Anyway, I opened it and found MANY wires unconnected. Can you tell me what connects where? I took the cd burner out of my old one...

Your old computer had IDE interface, the new computer has SATA interface.. There is a thin connector power cord and interface cords with tge same width connectors. The existing hard drive has thes cables connected to it. Connect one power cord and one data interface cable to the cd drive. Connect the audio cable to the cd drive and the Audio IN connector on the motherboard.
Unless the motherboard has a ide connector. you can not use your old hard drive or cd. You can get a external drive encloser that can convert IDE to USB

I lost my power supply cord when I moved. Where can I find another for a model USB 1930-52?

Hello, you can buy one AC to DC voltage converter (usually 1000mA) - which comes with multiple output tips and you manual setting the Volt that are required by your burner(check behind of your burner near the socket that you plug the power it should right ..Volt and the mA or AMP) and adjust the converter

Gear Head Lightscribe 24x DVD+/-R Triple Format SATA

Your original CDROM drive is likely an IDE interface (large rectangular connector), where as the new one is a SATA interface (small narrow connector). If your original is an IDE, the simplest solution is to return the SATA and purchase an IDE DVD.

The cord that connects to the burner doesn't fit into my computer

Hi Mil,

The connector on this drive is a firewire connector. They originated on Mac Computers, although some PC's have them they are not standard. You will either need to exchange this drive for a USB model or take your PC to your local shop and ask them to add a 1394 or forewire card to the computer in order to use the drive.

Also be sure to take the drive and cable with you as there are 2 standard sizes and you want to make sure the card they install is the right one, or has both.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris

Power cord

This depends on what type of PS2 it is.Original or Slimline. If its the original, No I don't believe it will hurt it at all. I lost my powercord for my PS2, and saw that the one for my PS2, and my Cd player/stereo was nearly the same, but didn't have the same end on it. So I cut it to fit the hole (Warranty Void there I'm sure) and sure enough it worked. I was even able to use it on my stereo still. If thats the case, please be careful when cutting if you go that route. If you have a camera, or an camera-enabled phone, maybe you could take a pic. for us to see the cord. If it's the Slimline version though, and your talking about the cord that plugs directly into the PS2, then yes there's a good chance of it damaging it

Re:power a/c cord for pacific digital

if you have the power supply aka the brick and just need the cord from the brick to the wall, a PS2 power cord works just fine! I found that out by accident, but since PS2 is very popular chances are you can find one at any store or on ebay. from the brick to the round post on the back of the device, I don't know about that one...but if you just lost the one piece..the PS2 works fine
thanks,
