What do i clean the drum with clean cloth or acholol

In most printers with a drum (I assume this is a laser printer) it is a user replaceable but, not a user serviceable part. You may be able to order a replacement drum but, you should not attempt to clean or otherwise service the printer drum.

Hi,

According to your problem, may be the drum is not usable now. But first clean the toner drum properly. May be this may occurs for setting of the drum in printer. So resets the drum carefully inside the printer after clean it. Then reboot the printer and the system both. If it doesn't solve your problem then change the toner. It may help you or you have to change the drum or cartridge.

Is there a way to clean the drum on the HP laserjet p3005n The toner and drum are one unit.

You don't want to clean the drum. It is done automatically as the drum rotates. The cleaning blade scrapes the residual toner off of the drum.

If the drum is not getting clean then you have to replace the cartridge.

open the front panel and remove the toner and check for any kind of scratches on the toner drum it might be of green color and if you found the scratches on the drum that mean drum has to be replace. if its not so than clean that drum properly by soft cotton and reinstall it and check the print.

Print smears

Hi Allan:
Sounds like you need to replace the drum pivot plate assembly. This assembly is what cleans the drum assembly prior to putting the image on the drum. The pivot plate assembly has a rubber drum cleaning blade on it and when the printer begins to print a page it cleans the drum first. If the cleaning blade or the pivot plate are deffective then the drum will not be cleaned properly leaving smudgy areas on the drum.

Dell 3000cn drum cleaning?

Do not try to clean the drum. The drum and its asociated cleaning blades and other parts, are COMSUMABLES that have a certain useful lifespan, the same as batteries or automobile brake pads. When smudges appear on the drum, it and the associated parts are at the end of their useful life. Order a new IMAGING DRUM KIT from www.dell.com

How do you clean the drum?

Brother had me take a tissue and wipe the drum. You can spin it with the gear on the left had side of the drum. Then they had me slide the blue tab 30 times back and forth.
Also take a soft cloth and clean the lens on the inside of the printer. First take out the drum unit. The lens in toward the back.
