As we all know, when the Mozilla Firefox is installed, another version called "Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode)" is installed. But mostfirefox users don't know it's importance and would consider it to run in SafeMode. This feature is also used to Change the Firefox settings/preferences.
If you've messed up with the security settings, add-ons,etc..etc.. we have to reset all the settings from the Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode). To do this, follow the steps below:
For windows xp
" and type in "firefox -safe-mode"[Note: one space after "firefox"]
and press enter. A new window willopen up (shown below)
You can select whatever you want to restore, but if you onlyneed to reset the changes you've made to the "Preferences
", then simply select (check mark)
the "Reset all user preferences to Firefoxdefaults
" and click "MakeChanges and Restart
". Once you click the "Make Changes and Restart
", firefox will restart.
If your operating system isn't Windows XP, then the commandsare as follows:
Windows Vista andWindows 7
"then "Start Search
" and type in "firefox.exe -safe-mode
" (one spaceafter firefox.exe).
" then "Terminal" andtype in "/Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-safe-mode" and press enter
"then type in "/path/to/firefox/firefox-safe-mode
