Question about Jura Capresso Impressa Z5 Espresso/Coffee Maker

1 Answer

Message keeps saying "Fill Water Tank" despite the water tank being full. Have checked the tank itself, and it is working fine (i.e, seal is sealed until depressed, and then the water comes out). Have tried 'emptying system' and refilling it. Water seems to go through the system when I try to refill it. HELP!

Within the water tank is a small compartment. Inside is a small black floatation device. On top is a small clear plastic cover. This small plastic cover is missing and the floatation device is outside of the small compartment. Check if you can locate both pieces and reassemble.

Why do we need to have to continuously adjust the temperature of the water when we're taking a shower. We have a new Rheem gas .hot water tank

It *may* not be a problem with the water heater itself necessarily. When you say "keep adjusting the water temperature when you're taking a shower" I presume you're talking about turning the shower hot/cold knob(s) and not the temp thermostat on the water heater itself.
If so, when it starts to run colder, turn the knob all the way to full hot. Is the water then very hot? If so, the water heater is working fine & doing its job, and the problem is likely to be in the shower faucet mixing valve itself. Sometimes a faulty one will expand the inner seals/cartridge as hot water flows thru it, and starts to (wrongly) restrict the hot water flow, thus causing the constant need to "turn the dial up a notch".

The water continues to fill the toilet tank even with the float at the very top

Sooner or later, that defective fill valve will have to be replaced.

Our Saeco Incanto Deluxe keeps saying "fill water tank" on the lcd screen but the tank is full. I remove the tank and put it back on then it leaks in the area of the hole where the tank sit in. ...

Does not sound like the seal. A bad seal would leak outside the machine.

The cause usually is the magnet in the water tank. Make sure that the magnet is floating when the tank has water in it. Click here to see what it looks like.

Hope this helps.

The toilet isnt flushing and water is not filling into the cistern? (at the top) how do i fix this problem??

If I understand correctly, the tank that holds water is not filling up with water.

1) If this is the problem, then you need new toilet fill valve.
Or clean sediment out of existing fill valve by removing and soaking in CLR calcium rust lime.

To replace fill valve:
Look at water supply line coming into tank.
Supply line connects to fill valve.

Buy new fill valve at home center, hardware store, or walmart, or online.
There are two nuts connected to valve. Each nut has companion rubber washer

One nut & washer seal water supply line to tank.
Second nut & washer seal valve to tank.

2) If water tank is full of water, but water does not flow rapidly into bowl when you push flush lever, then your toilet is clogged with sediment.

To solve sediment problem when flush water will not flow rapidly into tank, then buy CLR calcium lime rust.
Pour CLR down into overflow tube located inside water tank.
Make a funnel by cutting off bottom of water bottle, or cut paper cup into a funnel.
Pour cup-full after cup-full of CLR into overflow tube until sediment and CLR are coming out all flush holes located under-rim on bowl.

3) Add a comment for more free help.
Also take advantage of fixya phone service.
For a price, expert speaks with you over phone while you work on timer or any do-it-yourself project.
Fixya is always less expensive than a service call.

Replaced the seals because it was running. Water is still leaking from the tank somewhere so it keeps refilling....it's constantly leaking and refilling. how can I repair this.

You say you have replaced seals. I assume that you are refering to the flaper valve that controls dumping water from tank to bowl to flush. To make sure you have a good seal put a dozen or so drops of food coloring directly into tank when it's full and observe for a hour or so to see if water in bowl is discoloring. If it is then you are still leaking there. You can shut off water supply off or flush toilet and manually hold flush valve closed. Check to see if there are any rough spots on flapper seal that could stop flapper from sealing good. If you find rough spot then make sure the surface is dry and sand lightly with medium grit sandpaper.120 grit or finer.
One other thing to check is if your toilet has the plastic or rubber tube that goes from the flush valve into the overflow. Make sure that this tube does not set below water level in tank when it is full as this can create a suction or syphon,
Hope this helps you. Thanks

Hi Mike,

Make sure the magnet flow up, if it flow up and you still get fill water tank then you have to replace the magnet.

Leaking

If the seal and plungers are ok(bottom of tank), then most likely have a crack on the bottom of the tank, lot of times it will be under the seals, breaks away and will like out.

Fill Watertank Message

The black thing floating in the water tank is a plastic shell with a magnet inside. If you clean it...make sure you reinstall it with the tapered (smaller) side down. There is a slight size difference BUT it will make ALL the difference in the world.

I had no idea there was a magnet in that black/greyish case. The direction of the casing is important.
I had the same problem and that solved it!
