Cover your cartridge with black tape. At the back of the cartridge (transparent square). Then your ink will show full tank.

Hi! Have you removed the protective covering of the ink cartridge? Theres a protective covering at the bottom of the cartridge that needs to be removed. It may be the reason thats why its not being detected. Try to clean the well where the cyan sits, it may be clogged by dried inks and may cause the problem too. HOpe this helps and have a good one!

Try first taking out all the cartridges that you have on the machine and then shake them a bit and also clean the tip of those cartridges with a isoprophyl alcohol to make sure nothing is blocking there.

Yeah ,,this is happening when you change the certridges and do not reset it ...usually it do not happen with new ones ..but if you just filled them you have to go in the menu ..and look for counter reset and reset all couters..specially the ink or the drum ...if you have general reset to default settings is better ...
anyway you may take out again ...shake them and fix them well...after that press reset button and keep it for 10 seconds ...also look in the menu if it has reset ....if no reset is present on this model ..just power off..and when you open it ..keep the button pressed ..For some models this way is the reset ..at least will cancel the jobs and look for the cartridges again ..

After installing new ink cartridge. my multi purpose offic jet 6110 keeps saying "failed to align cartridges" though the cartridges seem to be installed properly. any ideas?

HI

try removing all the cartridges and restart the printer ,it will ask to install the cartridges, install them one by one and then see if it prints an alignment sheet,if it doesnt print it this way there is an option to align print cartridges in the printer drivers, goto the control panel--->printers and faxes--->rt click the printer icon and goto properties, under properties there should be an option for either maintenance or service this device button, when you click it ,it gives an option fro aligning the cartrdiges,

Changed yellow ink to new cartridge. Printer won't recognize.

I contacted the Brother site, the support function there. Pursuant to what I found there, I unplugged the printer for ten seconds and replugged. The message display then told me that cyan was empty, and that magenta was near empty.

I installed a new cartridge in place of the empty cyan, and that fixed it.

I changed my cyan ink

That definitely sounds like the cartridge isn't registering properly. I would take the cartridge back to where you bought it and ask them to exchange it with a new one. This can happen from time to time.

If the printer was new out of the box, contact the manufacturer for a replacement cartridge. You can reach Brother here

Printer keeps asking for a new cyan and Ive already replaced it!!

i don't have this model but mine did do this the area where the ink comes out is clogged try running clean ink heads if that don't help you will need to do it manually with a qtip and alcohol just don't press very hard might damages the printer read pins. If this fails you may need to take it to a repair place and have the head cleaned

The new light cyan cartridge was not printing...I thought it may be faulty so purchased another which also did not work. I did 'clean print head ' several times followed by nozzle check. All other colours...

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

MFC-420cn printer says install cartridge. But there is a new one just installed.

by useing original brother carts instead of poor designed generic ones.

Or by answering the lcd-display question if you have changed the cart.

or by making sure that the plastic nose secures the cart which was placed well into the holder.

If that doesnt work, the circuit board might be defective.

Samsung clp-510n printer

1 Could be toner on the contacts (inside the printer) that mate with the contacts on the cartrdige.

2 Are you sure they are 510 toners and not 500 ones ?? 510 toners have a chip that identifies the cartridge (Colour, Capacity) and maintains a count of the pages printed.
500 toners have a reset fuse that resets the toner counter in the printer, and a resitor that identifies the capacity

3 Are they new cartridges, remanufactured, or 'home refiled'.
if either of the later two, were the chips replaced ? - if not the cartridge still thinks it has printed its full life of pages.
