Cant re install built in webcam after installing new hard drive

When you went to the Gateway website and downloaded drivers, did you notice that under drivers there was nothing for the webcam? Use this link and download the webcam application under Applications tab. The driver is included in the application.

My built in webcam in not detecting,no imaging device display, how to fix it.thnx

HI
This is vinod. If it is a built in webcam, check for the driver in device manager. start-- right click mycomputer if xp or computer in vista or windows7-- click on hardware tab--click on devicemanager--check if you see imaging devices

Check if any driver is there under imaging devices or not. right click on the option under imaging devices and uninstall. make sure you dont put a check if ask delete driver software. once uninstall just restart the computer. Driver would be re-installed. check it it is working or not.

If it doesnt resolve uninstall the camera software and check. if not resolved back up data and do a recover and check. if not it can be a hardware issue. so contact hp

Acer crystal eye webcam ''not found''

okay, so after a lot of frustration because I don't know much about computers at all, I think I have it fixed. I went into control panel - programs and features, and selected the camera. Then if you go to change, you can fix it with the previous program. It seems to have worked for me! I wish I could be more specific, but I really was just shooting in the dark. Hope this works for you!

Gateway gt5404 reads no bootable device pc seemed to siow down some then went black was after micro. soft update ? unpluged twice pulled batt. reconected it worked set clock back worked awhile went black...

Any hard disk that makes clicking or metallic noises is faulty, especially when POST error message no bootable devices detected.
To confirm go into the BIOS setting and see if the hard drive is detected, if it cannot detect the hard drive then it is definitely faulty.
Replace the hard drive and install Windows on the new hard drive to get the computer working again.

Averatec 2500 Series Webcam Not Working

Try uninstalling the webcam restart your computer, reinstall the webcam with the single original driver WITHOUT any updates. If that does'nt fix it, the webcam may have went out or a sevice may have been turned off somehow.Sounds like the webcam went out or has become disconnected in some way or a corrupted driver. Also remember to, VISTA sucks

DVD Drive corrputed

Hi there,

the installation of the webcam shouldnt have affected the drive atall. Try uninstalling the webcam first of all, and then see if the DVD drive is working again. It may be a coincidence that it has failed, at the same time as installing the webcam.

Something you can try if you have windows XP:

To check the health of the DVD drive, go to start>control panel>Administrative Tools>Event Viewer.

click on "system" from the list on the left of the window, then click "type" to group all the events, errors, and warning. check to see if you have any messages such as "CDROM" Device CDROM0 has a bad block. (something like this). Thats always a sign that your cd drive is on its way out.

If the CD drive still works but just cant play movies (but can read all other files fine) Then i'd try using different software to play the files. Try VLC player from videolan.org, which plays all file types.

I hope this helps
