My Canon printer won't turn on, power indicator shows power to printer, what can I do?

Aye Caramba! Not good. Are you plugging into a power strip? Sounds like you have a bad ground in cord. Don't get mad, but did you try another outlet? If you have and this is still happening you have a bad power distribution board. OR, or you may just have a bad cord b check tho see if nothing is jammed against the ground lug and one of the plug extensions. LET me know. Jim.

My printer won't turn on. I have tried turning everything off and back on but it still won't turn on.

There is only one way to find out if it is an issue with the printer or the Power cord or Power Adapter.

Normally every HP printer has 2 parts. One cord connects the Printer to an Adapter. the Adapter cord then connects to the Wall outlet.

Now that you have connected the printer to working outlet, Check after 10-15 mins if the Adapter ( black box ) is warm or cold. If the Adapter is warm and the green LED light on adapter is glowing, then it could an issue with the Cord or the Printer.

Try with another Adapter or power cord to diagnose.

For Other brand printers, there should be a power adapter ( black box ) and it should be warm when connected to wall outlet, if it is not warm then it is defective power adapter that you need to replaced. Else it is a problem with printer mechanism.

I have a HP Deskjet D1560, and with the power cord plugged into a working outlet (I checked), the printer won't turn on. Is it just old? Is something wrong with the power cord or the printer?

I cannot turn the printer on

These are the possible solutions:
  • Press power button.
  • Disconnect and reconnect the power cord. Plug the printer's power cord straight into an electrical outlet that other electrical devices have been using. Bypass any surge devices or power strips.
  • Unplug the power adapter from printer (rectangular black box inserted in the printer where the power cord is attached). With the power cord attached to it and other end plugged into the power outlet in the wall, check if it's warm/hot but not too hot, that means it's working fine.

If these does not help, it could be a possible defective power adapter issue. Please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance. Thanks.

The middle light is blinking when I turn the printer on. I can not stop it and it will not print. What should I do?

Remove all the cartridges from the printer, then perform the below steps
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet, and then wait 60 seconds.
  3. Connect the power cord to the electrical outlet.
  4. Connect the power cord to the back of the product.
  5. Press the Power button to turn on the product. Then insert the cartridges one by one to the printer while it is on and check for any error, the issue would be with cartridges and can be isolated.

My Brothers printer will not turn on.

Four possibilities as per the problem you stated 1)either the power cord is faulty. 2)or the power outlet where you are inserting the power cord is faulty. 3)or the printer socket where you are inserting the power cord wire in the printer that is got loosen from inside and needs resoldering to that part. 4)or the final the costlier one.the main circuit board of the printer is gone short.the board needs replace ment. check out 1 by 1. thanks.

Wont turn on!

Unless the power cord is loose, it sounds like the unit is defective. There are two places to check the power cord. The 'brick' has to be firmly inserted into the back of the printer and the cord has to be properly fitting into the brick. If all is well there, it sounds like something more drastic is wrong.

Printer doesnt switch on correctly

Try the steps mentioned bellow

Unplug the power cord from the All-In-One as well as the power outlet when there is still power in the All-In-One.
Now with a lint free cloth and drinking water just moiston the cloth and clean the metal contacts of the ink cartidges and the inside of the printer where the ink cartridge get in touch with the printer contacts and leave it to dry for a while.
Then insert the ink cartridges back.
Plug the power cord directly to a wall outlet without surg protector. (if possible connect it to a different power outlet)
Before connecting the power cord to the All-In-One press and hold the # and no 6 button and then insert the power cord, do not release the keys
until you see a message a reset (if the screen goes blank then release the keys and turn the power on)

Then check and see

Good Luck

Won't come on after pushing power button

Hi,

Try to check if the power outlet you are using is fine. If its in good condition, try pulling the power cord at the back of the printer and at the wall outlet for 30 secs. Plug it back in and make sure to press the power button completely. If it still wont work, try to do a semi-full reset y following the steps below:

unplug the printer
press the # and 6 keys on the printer simultaneously
insert the power cord back without releasing those buttons
turn on the printer

if its still the same then i think your printer needs to be replace. Call 1-800-474-6836 to replace your printer if you are still in warranty
