Hello,

If you still can boot it in windows, follow this:



Step 1: Click “Start” menu.
Step 2: Click “Programs.”
Step 3: Click “Acer Recovery Management.”
Step 4: Click the “Restore” button on the bottom of the dialog box that opens.
Step 5: Click “Restore System to Factory Default.”
Step 6: Click “Yes” in the warning dialog box which asks if you wish to continue the recovery process.
Step 7: Click “Start” to restore the computer to the default factory settings.

If you can not boot to windows, follow this:


1. Restart the laptop
2. While the Acer logo is showing, press <Alt> + <F10> at the same time to enter the recovery process.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to perform system recovery

    Restoring your laptop to factory settings can take up to an hour to perform, depending upon the type of laptop and operating system on your machine. Prior to performing a system recovery, you should remove any external peripherals, such as ExpressCards, PC Cards, and USB-connected printers and hard drives. Turn on the laptop. Press the "F8" key until the "Advanced Boot Options" screen appears. Select "Repair Your Computer" using the arrow keys. Press the "Enter" key. Choose your "Language," then "Next." Login with an administrator-level username and password. Click "OK. Select "Dell Factory Image Restore," then "Next." Tick the check box next to "Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition." Click "Next." Click on "Finish" after the computer has concluded the factory restoration. b> Restore on an HP b> Insert the HP recovery disk. Restart the computer, and press the "F11" key. Press the "F" key to "reinstall factory settings." If your computer's operating system is damaged, you may only see "perform a full system recovery" as an option. In this case, press "R." Insert any disks if prompted by the restoration program. Otherwise, permit the computer to restart as needed. b> Restore Via Disks (Generic) b> Insert the "Recovery Disk" or "System Recovery Disk."     Are you talking factory recovery options, or a system recovery.if your looking to do a factory recovery when you start your pc then you have to press either f10 /f11 or f12[ different for different brands].keep pressing till factory restore comes up start as soon as you turn on pc. to get into the factory restore. if you do not have factory restore on your pc you must us the disk that came with pc..     How can i restore my laptop to factory settings


    Most of the HP Notebooks are shipped with recovery partitiona d you can restore to factory settings uisng teh recovery partition.

    Perform ing Full System Reocvery will completely remove the data on the hard drive. Hence it is recommended to take the back up of the important data present in the Notebook before perform ing the Full System Recovery.

    1. Restart the notebook.
    2. At the Compaq logo, press F11 to initiate the Recovery options.
    3. The PC Recovery screen will be displayed. Select PC Recovery and
    press Next.
    4. In the next screen, click OK to access the Recovery menu.
    5. You will receive a screen explaining the System Recovery Process.
    Click Next to continue.
    6. Once the Recovery process is completed, you will prompted to either
    restart or turn off the computer.

    Restore to factory settings? or a System Restore?

    For factory restore (All Data wil be Lost), tab the f11 key while booting the computer and enter PC recovery. Go to Advance options and Select the option of "restoring the system back to factory settings". in case u do not go to PC recovery after multilple attempts, there is no partition. Use Recovery cds.

    System Resore : All programs > Accessories > System Tools > System restore. Select a date and Follow instructions(No Data Loss)
