The fan is running but will not turn off when the main on/off switch is actuated. Initially the power connection to one of the small black devices on top was loose and this was repaired. After repair, the control panel display would lite up but on/switch of control panel does not turn fan on and off as display goes on and off.

Where can I get a service manual?

Please note that the interior wiring diagrams and connection diagram are not given by the product manufucturers. If you need of those you should contact nearby dealer for getting those wiring diagrams.

Dear Bavril,
It can happen due to various reason.........
Mainly this happens due to power problem. There could be a problem between wiring of the fan. Check thoroughly the wiring of the Fan. There could be a loose connection. Since all the indicators regarding fan are working, therefore check power source wiring and wiring of the on/off switch.
There is also probability of your your fan's blade has been jamed or motor of the Fan has stop working. So it is better to get serviced.......
If possible get the service manual of your gadget. It can give you specific instruction regarding your Gadget.....

Where is the button to reset on a frigidaire air conditioner

Hi friend, that's a great question!

To reset your Frigidaire air conditioner you would need to make sure the appliance is turned off and unplugged. On the power cord you will see a test button, push that button and you will hear a click. You would then press the reset button you will hear a click again signifying that the appliance has been reset. Then plug your air conditioner back in and it should be reset. -Matt

Why does the unit beep when I plug it in.

Good Morning Tina,

I understand that your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAM187S2A, beeps and flashes lights when you first plug it in. First, test the power supply cord by doing the following:

1. Plug in your air conditioner.
2. The power supply cord will have TWO buttons on the plug head. Press the TEST button. You will notice a click as the RESET button pops out.
3. Press the RESET button. Again you will notice a click as the button engages.
4. The power supply cord is now supplying electricity to the unit. (On some products this is also indicated by a light on the plug head)

NOTE:
• Do not use this device to turn the unit on or off.
• Always make sure the RESET button is pushed in for correct operation.
• The power supply cord must be replaced if it fails to reset when either the TEST button is pushed, or it cannot be reset. A new one can be obtained from the product manufacturer.
• If power supply cord is damaged, it CANNOT be repaired. It MUST be replaced by one obtained from the product manufacturer.

NOTE: Some plugs have buttons on the top.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your air conditioner status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

What does E1 mean when it is showing up on a Homewell Portable Air conditioner?

1. Power down the air conditioner using the "power" button on the front
panel.
2. Unplug the air conditioner from the wall socket.
3. Hold the front panel "power" button down and plug the air
conditioner in. Continue to hold the power button down as the machine
goes through a brief test sequence (fan & compressor each come on
briefly, etc). There is a "beep" sound at the end of the test sequence,
and the machine will be off. At this point, you can release the power
button.
4. Unplug the air conditioner.
5. Plug the air conditioner back in.
6. Congratulations! You should now be able to operate the air
conditioner normally for another 720 hours, but only if you followed
the instructions above EXACTLY.

I have a Sharp portable room air conditioner model CV-P10NC. The power plug RESET button and TEST button will not click in order to check out the power plug as the unit will not turn on. They did test O.K....

the fused9G.F.C.I.) cord you speak of is probably the G.F.C.I. built onto these units by design, can you or someone you know get access inside the unit and :Hot-Wire" the units cord and, bypass the power cord ( Just To Test the Unit)and see if it stays operational then replace bad unit cord if this is it.

Will not turn on when plugged in

The first thing to look for - no power at the receptacle.

If there is power, then the plug you mention could be at fault. You will need an ohmmeter to check for continuity from plug to other end of cord going into the unit. If the plug is bad it will have to be replaced.

If both check out you will need to update your posting.
