Problem for Kenmore AC2044-1 Air Purifier
Kenmore ac2044-1 shuts off
shuts off after 20 minutes says the cell needs clean. It's clean. took it to sears charged me 30 dollars to tell me it was in the circut board. Which wire can I cut to by-pass the sensor that tells me to clean the cell and shuts off the purifier? $300.00 machine that does me no good shutting off all of the time.

Take Cell out and examine closely with flashlight for debris and bent aluminum cell plates or ionizing wires.
Make sure all plates are more or less clear of one an other with fairly even spacing between them and no kinks on their edges.
If any are to close together it will cause a cell overload that will cause the Clean Cell to display and or completely turn unit off all together.

This suggestion helped me because as I was examining the cell for debris I noticed markings for "Top" and "Bottom" inscribed on the four corners of the front of the cell that I had never noticed before. After cleaning I had installed the cell upside down. It would work for 20 minutes and then shut off. The rounded thingies on the bottom of the cell are contacts which should touch the little springies on the bottom of the housing.
