Question about Pioneer SX-315

Open Question

Pioneer SX-315 factory wired with 200htz bottom limit on 5 output

Is it possible by changing values of parts in pre/power amps I can have full 20 htz - 20khtz freq output to FL and FR channels (I don't have or need a sub woofer). My SK-315 Reciever is factory wired to cutoff freq. below 200 htz to all 5 channels EXCEPT the sub (45-200 htz).
This makes it impossible to use full range stereo speakers only.(I'm forced to use SW to hear the lower freq !!! ).

I am using this reciever for stereo only and have Paradigm 2 way monitor speakers that go down to 38 htz, but can't use them because of this "limited" bandwidth (factory wired of audio outputs).

SOURCE: power sub woofer is not

Hissing? How loud? A sub isn't even capable of making high frequency sounds at normal volumes.

The Pioneer manual would tell you how to enable and test the subwoofer output.

Sounds like there's either a serious problem with the speaker wiring, or the wiring problem has escalated in to a blown output transistor

I have a Pioneer SX-315. While inuse it shutdown. Now it won't turn on. What happened?

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'nekkid'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as another possible root cause for intermittent shutdown.

I have tv hooked up to the pioneer but the TV will not play its sound through the speakers? what Am I doing wrong? I have the DVD hooked to the Pioneer and it works fine.

Is the unidentified TV a sound source from the SX-315's perspective? Is it's audio output enabled whene the TV volume is down? Would the Cable Box be a BETTER source?

Pioneer sx315 receiver shut off after being cranked up for a while and wont turn back on checked fuse its good. power button seems to work clicks when turned on and off

If the power to the outlet is still good, then I would suspect the power amp IC or output transistors are shorted, keeping the power from coming on. It's also possible that one or more of your speakers are bad feeding back to the receivers output connectors, especially if you were running speakers with a different power rating or impedance that your set is designed for. Hope this helps.

Dead no power.. checked main fuse, worked fine last night, went to turn it on today and nothing. its a sx-316 not sx-315, I say this because it tells me this is not a valid model#, but sx316 is printed on...

Check the resistance of the primary on the main power transformer, (with power off) should be 1-3 ohms. If open you need a new transformer.

If good turn it on and check for ac voltage (120v) there.
