Question about Jenn-Air 24 in. JDB1100AWS Built-in Dishwasher

Leaking out of left side

Our dishwasher has started to leak from the left side... but only for a few seconds after starting up. All that is there is a plastic piece that is glued to the side of the DW. A black hose runs up the side and into this opaque plastic piece that has a lid that seems to be able to flip up. I believe this is where the leak is occuring. Any ideas what is causing this?

When does it start to leak? I mean how much water goes in before the leak starts. I have a problem every once in awhile with mine leaking when the float in the bottom of the washer gets stuck and does not shut off the water. The way to check this is to locate the float, it is near the front left side, and push it up and down a few times to make sure it is not stuck. Try the washer again. If that is not the problem u could have a leak from the drain under the dishwasher. Sometimes the plastic can crack and cause a leak. Also check the discharge line and make sure it is not the problem.

Dishwasher Leaking Water Front left side (when facing)

Had a similar situation with my dishwasher. Turned out there was some hard water build up on the rubber gasket. I would start there first. I would not use any harsh chemicals on it, (it may jeopardize the gasket) it usually flakes off. Hope this helps.

Maytag Jet Clean leaking through right side of door during rinse

It is important to examine the leak to see where it probably originates.

If the water is leaking from the right hand side of the door on your dishwasher, it is time to replace the gasket that seals the door when the door is latched.

This is a simple solution, the brass nut that connects the heating element to the base of the dishwasher is cracked and needs replaced. It takes just a few minutes to replace, just remove the nut after TURNING OFF THE POWER and take to your local parts store, they should have one in stock. You might have your model number with you.
