On the manufactures tag, it will list the pounds and ounces, that is required, this usually includes, about 25 feet of line, usually add 1 1/2 ounces per foot past that.
PS. It is best to weight the charge in with electronic scales designed for this,

How to recharge air conditioner in 2000 tacoma?

Connect the charge line to the new bottle of AC Freon but be sure the piercing pin is screwed all the way out away from the container seal. Connect the other end to the charge line(covered by a cap like on your tire air fill), this will only fit one of two fittings. They're set up that way so there's no mistakes. The other is larger. After connection is complete, start the engine and turn the AC on so the compressor will suck the Freon into the system from the can, then screw the piercing pin all the way in to open the seal, then screw it back out to release the Freon from the can. To be sure ALL the Freon is removed, have a bucket of hot water there to set the Freon bottle into, and it will empty completely with the bottle in the hot water while engine and AC running. That's a good trick I learned long ago. Once the Freon bottle is empty, disconnect from the charge line fitting first, replace the cap you didn't lose, remove the can from the fill hose and put it where you can find it again, and your good to go.

What type freon for 1998 newmar mountainaire 15000 btu ac unit

Early years were R-22 but the best way to double check would be to contact manufacturer with model and serial number for confirmation.
( ) for dometic products, or ( ) for Coleman.

Can I add freon to a Goldstar window air conditioner

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. The only time you add freon to an AC unit is if you find a leak and repair it! If its not cooling well you should just clean the front and rear coils.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..

Freon R-22

I would not worry about the R-22 gas part. First, you do not have to put gas in an A/C unless there is a leak. The A/C gas is not like propane that you have to keep refilling because it gets used up. A/C gas circulates in a closed system and years can pass before you may even need some. Take for example the R-12, it was fhased out in 1994 and it is still available (for technicians only) 16 yrs. later.

So if you like the unit and the $$, get it.

Don't forget to rate this post. Good Luck!!

if your sayin the unit isnt cooling then you need to see if it blows any air at all if so and its just warm or regular air then fist check your run capacitor to see if thats bad and at the same time put your hand on the top of compressor to see if thats running it should feel like a humm if not running copressor is probably bad if it is running then most likely its low on freon and if thats the case you have a freon leak some where in system and the new freon laws these days are requiring the a/c company to find and fix leak before adding freon .some companies will just fill it and the same problem will accur soon again.send back more info ,like is unit blowin air is compressor running and i can pinpoint problem easier thanks and let me know the outcome

I have a Carrier 4 ton unit model number 661CJ048-A which is charged with R-22 capacity is 9,25lbs. It has developed a leak at the evaporator coil. It has rust on the coils which from what I understand...

First your system is 22 and 134A is a auto AC refrigerant. I have never seen it used in residential ac. I have been in AC business for 45 years. The new refrigerant is 410A or Puron. But you can not use it. Your outside unit is set up for 22. Mix 134A with the oil used in a 22 system is not done. You need to get the correct coil for your system. They are going to make 22 for years. They now have a Drop in for 22 called NU22. I know times are tough but you may have to get a Service Tech anyway.

R-22, if it were R-410A then it would have a pink sticker on it near the service ports. You would know for sure.
