Coil freezes up. is there away to recharge window unit. The unit is heat and ac the unit is a hampton bay Is there a manual that can be down loaded?

Your issue is most likely a faulty speed control. The part is integral to the remote receiver in the fan housing. You can purchase spare parts for this fan through Home Depot (Hampton Bay) Service at 800-654-0688.

un srew it and just litely pull it away without kinking the tubing and wash ti with evap coil cleaner

Not common, keep in mind compositor work almost like a fuse but restrict certain amount of voltage to flow through, power surge or unit overload from AC compressor kicking on and off can cause the resistor to fail; its parts of electronics working. My AC unit trip my main fuse box once in the great while, nothing surprises me when it come to electronics.

the unit may be too small for the room. or the filter need to be cleaned. also once a rea you need to sprey a mixute of warm water and amonia to clean the coils.

There should be a tag somewhere on it. Take the front grill off and look in the area where the fan blows out the grill face or below the evap coil face where your filter covers the coil
