Question about Konica Minolta PagePro 1350W Laser Printer

1 Answer

Deskpro 1350W will not pick up paper

Do you have a picture of how the paper base/tray sits in the unit. It was out when I received the unit. The white geared-wheels on either side of the tray spin it looks like they should lift the paper up to the paper-pickup wheel (rubber ribbed), but they doen't. The wheels rotate through their cycle without touching the tray.

The problem is not the rubber pad that picks up the paper. The paper tray is not lifted high enough to engage the rubber pad.

Try to see if there is dirt, dust or some object obsctructing the tractors

The mechanics may be stuck try gently pushing the rubber wheels on the paper.
If the above does not work the mechanics of the tractors may be broken. You will need to disassemble part of the machine and assemble it back. You may find out that some part is missing or out of place . Other solution is taking the printer to service.
If you decide to do the job yourself you will need the service manual. Here is the download . The manual is in compressed format , you will need to install WinRAR to unzip it.

Try to play with the mechanic that lift the paper , pull it up very gently. If it does not unlock probably some part is broken or missing. You will need to follow the exploded view in service manual and check it out.

Also unplug the printer and turn it upside down, try to hear if there is any object moving inside the printer , or to see if any object comes out. a broken part or a small foreign object inside the printer can block the mechanics.

Im using ricoh 2045..Paper jam occurs at point A1 (the lever the drops to remove the paper) . I have noticed roller A1 and registration roller doesn't rotate. When i remove the paper and close the covers...

this is not a thought I am 100% sure and give you the correct solution:
problem with the paper feeding section is dusty or due to developer drooping
1. Open the developer unit and check the rear side developer unit bush one or two bush are faulty
and drop the developer.
2. remove all paper trays with remove the four each screws
3. Remove the toner collection bottle
4. Remove the right side cover.
5. Remove paper left roller plate.(show in the picture)
6. Now remove the first tray paper feeding section(is a complete unit included paper feed rollers motor and clutch and gear section)
7. Clean the drooped developer from all gears and roller and motor section
8. remove the second and third tray paper feeding section and doing the same.
9. now fix it all
10. replace developer unit bush witch are faulty or if you don't have yet cut a plastic sheet and past the upper side of first paper feeding unit gears witch are don't disturb the paper path and stop the developer drooping on the gear good_help.pnggood_help_0.png

Its caused by the rubber on the feeder wheels getting worn. And the fix is easy. Just peel the flat rubber rings off the rollers, flip them inside-out, and put them back on. Now your paper will feed all the way intot he machine. ( you can order replacements the next time)

Other: Dont use alcohol on these rubber parts, it only dries them out and makes it worse, you can wash them in soapy water though.

Use higher grade heavier paper, its a bit more expesnive but wont wear out your printer with jams and dust.

Most folks (including myself) think the rollers are actuated when printing, actually the paper tray causes the rollers to pop down onto the paper stack when you close the tray all the way. you cant see it, its like trying to watch the refrigerator light go off when you close the door! :)

Printing error

The above suggestions are the easiest to do first, but I've found that all the mechanisms of the machine work except that the pick-up rollers won't drop down. This is a mechanical error in the cluster of gears that you can see when you open the top cover. If you look through the top left opening you can see the cluster of white gears that sit on a metal plate just below the top metal paper guide. Very carefully give the gears a little squirt of WD40 and move them around with your fingers as much as you can(very small opening and you may have to use a tool, be gentle). There is also a black and white coupling to the left and above these gears that you can push to the left a couple of times to insure that is not binding. Worked for me.

Paper Not Fed From Tray 2

you have to open the printer to get to the lower part of it which hides the 2nd paper tray and gear/wheel drive.
check the wheel and gears of the 2nd paper feeder.
I guess you have to click the gear back into position.

Tried solution for printer unable to initiate

This is related to the paper feed roller:

Check encoder disc if it is stained with ink or broken (its the round foil disc which is fixed on one of the three white big gear wheels on the left hand side). It should turn around without any scratching sound!

Check if another gear wheel is broken (right hand side behind the purge /parking station). Here you will find the gear box which is shifted by print head (little white plastic coming out of the metal plate between purge station and absorber box)

Pull out the paper tray and try to turn the paper feed roller by hand. You can reach it when seeing from bottom without the tray.

Konica minolta 2430 DL paper jam

Place a few papers in the tray.
Open up the top, pull out the main (green handle) thingy.
In the very bottom you will see a bar with a single large round rubber wheel in the middle, and white gears on both ends of the bar.
Manually turn the right side gear toward you.
As you do this, you will see the paper lift up and as the rubber wheel turns you will see that it has a notch on the bottom side.
Turn the gear, and watch the rubber wheel until the notch on the rubber wheel is facing up and away from you (and the paper is fully engaged).
Then put the green-handle thingy back in, close the printer, and it should work.
Apparently this resets something.  I have done it a number of times - usually after a paper jam.
