Precision TV - PTV2548 no sound when your watching cable but there is sound forvideo input

may be the source itself(i.e. cable box) also check cables between cable box & TV. If you are connecting the DVD to the same input the cable box is installed, You know that input on the TV is OK. If you get no audio when the DVD is connected to the same input as cable box, then issue is the MAIN PCB.

My television does not have an audio output so i connected the rs 110 to my cable box and it works fine...however i also have a dvd player connected to the tv video input and for some reason i cannot hear...

You cannot hear the audio from the DVD player because your headphones are connected directly into the cable box. I'm assuming that your DVD does not route through your cable box, thus the audio has no way of getting to your RS 110's. Also, changing the channel on the TV has no effect on the cable box, thus it won't alter than audio.
What you need to do:
  1. Look on the cable box to see if there is an option for AUDIO in (should be a pair of red and white RCA plugs)
  2. You want to run an RCA cable from the AUDIO OUT of the DVD player to the AUDIO IN of the cable box
  3. Then select the Auxillary input from the cable box and you should be able to hear the DVD
Alternatively you can run both DVD audio and video through the cable box
  1. Look for DVD IN on the cable box
  2. Connect the audio/video cables from the DVD player to the cable box
  3. To watch a DVD, switch to the DVD input on the cable box
Alternatively you can run the cable box through the DVD player
  1. There may be inputs for AUDIO and VIDEO in on the back of the DVD player
  2. You want to connect the outputs of the Cable box into the back of the DVD player
  3. You can then select the input on the DVD player to control whether you see/hear the cable or DVD

TRYING TO INSTALL DIGITAL SET-TOP BOX WITH DVD AND TV

Hi ccraigo
To answer your question;
Your motorola will connect directly(not through the dvd) to the tv set into one of the input ,(preferably using hdmi or component cables for hd) and the dvd will use a different input,
All you have to do then is switch between which one you want to watch.
Hope this help Cheers

Hook up tv/dvd

All you need is A/V cable. These are yellow, white, and red. If you have an old model TV that doesn't have these, you can get an RF modulator from any electronics store, which will enable you to connect the DVD/VCR combo.

Recording cable channels while warching other channels

To be able to watch one, record another, you have to split the cable when it comes into the house. Have one input go directly into the TV and the other into the Cable Box. Then hook the cable box to the DVD, then to the 2nd input of the TV. You will have to switch back & forth from your TV video inputs, rather than switching at either the DVD or Cable Box.

Hooking up my DVD/VHS player to TV & Convertor box

I would just hook up the dvd/vhs player with the red, white, yellow rca cables that should of come with your unit and just go to the input on the tv to watch your dvd/vhs player. This will give you a better picture and sound while allowing you not to have to watch dvd/vhs on a channel which helps make the dvd/vhs player independent. Also if possible I would hook the converter box up with the red, white, yellow rca cables to the tv as well if your tv has more than one set of red, white, yellow plugs since it is a better connection that coax and you probably watch more tv than vhs/dvd anyway. So bottom line try to hook up both boxes red, white, yellow and watch each box on different inputs instead of like channel 3 or 4. Also to record of converter box you can run coax from converter box to dvd/vhs combo and make sure your dvd/vhs player is on tuner input or channel 3.

Connect tv vcr and dvd player to digital converter box

Yes you can first connect the converter box to the antenna first. Next hook the tv out on converter box to vcr in on vcr. Next hook the vcr out to the tv in and watch vcr and converter box on channel 3 sometimes channel 4.on the actual tv and of course change channels with converter box remote. For dvd player hook it straight to tv with red, white, and yellow cables that come with your dvd player. Then to watch dvd player if it's hooked up that way you have to put your tv on a input like video 1 or input 1. This can be done by using the tv remote and looking for a button that says tv/video or input or source button. This is some common names for that button on tv remotes.

Cable box, digital service, channels not appearing

connect the RF lead from the wall to your cable box then out from that to your dvd then out from your dvd to your tv. now connect a scart lead from the cable box to AV 2 on the DVD then connect AV 1 on the DVD to your TV if you have a second scart on your tv connect that to the cable box. NOW on the DVD select AV2 now whatever is on the cable box will be recorded onto DVD/VCR. Put the DVD recorder into VCR mode and set it to auto tune all the Digital Video Broadcasts. You cannot physically tune the cable boxes own channels into the DVD via RF it has to be via a scart.

VCR, DVD, TV Connection

first let me say that a dvd player and a dvd recorder are different. the dvd player can only play dvd while a dvd recorder can both play and record dvd that is said. what i understand from what you write is currently is - out of your tv box into your dvd player then out of your player into your tv........ ok some dvd has two connections. line one and line two if your tv box is in line one then you should plug the rca cable in line two in. then you select line two on the dvd player then plug the other end to your vcr in line out so that is out of your vcr into line two of your dvd player.(some times one of the connection is at the front of your player hidden) if your dvd player only have one connection then you would have to plug out your tv box and replace it with the vcr cable and when you finish coping your vhs tape you plug in back your tv box to your dvd player. hope i could help.......... Trying to connect dvd player

You will have to connect your DVD player to the plasma TV, not the cable box. The cable box (or most cable boxes) have video outputs only. The same is true for the DVD player: it outputs the video to the tv.

Look in your DVD manual for scenarios for connecting your player to the tv.
