Question about Memorex MMP8565 MP3 Player
My mp3 used to work on the computer but, it just stopped one day it wont charge and the computer doesnt recognize it???
Plug it in to the computer, press the power button (inside the hole on the top), and then press the power button. Worked for me.

I just fixed the same problem. With the device plugged in, go to "control panel", then click the "system" icon- then click the "hardware" tab. Then click the "device manager" button. You should see the player listed under "portable devices"as an "MTP device", (most likely with a little yellow excamation point)- Right click it and uninstall it. Don't worry, just unplug it, and plug it back in, in a few seconds you will see a message in the lower right corner by the clock saying that a new device has been detected. (It may beep on and then off, and then on again-That's all cool) When all the beeping subsides, your player should be back to "normal"- which for me means it will work fine, even though I have NEVER been able to see the contents of my player in Media Player. (This is with winXP. When I use my friends old computer with windows ME I can see all my songs and add/remove them at will. With my XP though when I want to change my songs I use the firmware I downloaded from Memorex to just wipe the player clean and start fresh- It sucks, but it works. Once you diconnect the player and plug it back in, you once again can't see the contents. I don't know why this is.).

Go to memorexelectronics.com and then to support. You need to upload the current firmware for model MMP8565. I downloaded the firmware program and followed the instructions, it fixed all the problems I was having with the mp3 player. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully, it may get a little tricky if you are not somewhat computer literate.
Also, when charging, once connected to computer, hold the power button for approx 2-3 secs...the bars should start blinking at that time telling you it's charging.
