This is my third season for using the dirt devil pool cleaner. I never had a problem with the cord twisting up before but this year, no matter which position the handle is set, the cord ties itself in knots!

Try laying the hose for this automatic pool cleaner out in the sun, completely stretched out. Let it sit for several hours. The sun will soften the hose just slightly and allow any bends to unwind. Also, make sure that you are not storing the cleaner when not in use with the hose coiled. This will cause kinks to occur. You might also want to check the hose for an obstruction.

Brand new dirt devil will not make connection with the bottom of the pool

Check to make sure that the pool cleaners flapper is installed properly. If it is installed incorrectly or has debris lodged in the flaps, the pool cleaner will not be able to create suction on the bottom of the pool. Also, check and make sure that you have enough water pressure to power your cleaner.

Dirt devil hose is always twisted

Are you storing this pool cleaner with the hose coiled? If so, that is likely your problem. You should never coil the hose on these cleaners because it will cause problems with operation. Make sure to lay the hose flat in its original box or out of direct sunlight when you are not using it. If you start stretching it out flat during storage, it should solve the hose problem.

Dirt devil pool vacuum wont move

If one of these pool cleaners is not working, you likely have an obstruction in the flapper. That would explain why you have suction and no movement. With the pump off, turn the cleaner upside down and check for any twigs, rocks, etc. in the flapper. If you don't see anything or see something you can't reach with your fingers, remove the base plate with a flat head screw driver and check there. The base plate is where the waste is collected.

My resently purchased Dirt Devil pool cleaner vacuum for above ground pools does not have any suction. It was assumbled the exact way the manual said. What's the problem?

Sometimes u have to use the return water that enters your pool to fill up the hose with water u use to get all the air out of it, its kinda like priming it. or u can submerge the hose all the way. And if that still doesn't work then sometimes giggling the hose might get it to start suction

You can buy replacement rubber threads for this model from any store that sells automatic pool cleaners. They are easy to install and the instructions should be included in the packaging. This is something that you should easily be able to handle yourself.
