SOURCE: Hunter Fan has stopped accepting remote control signals

The receiver is at the bottom of your fan (just above any light kits), inside a round case about 4 inches tall. You will have to take 3-4 screws out and inside you will see the receiver. It should have an electrical connector going to it with dip switch as well. It will pull right out of the case.

By the way, I am having the same problem and am trying to get ahold of Hunter for a new receiver.

SOURCE: Hunter fan/light with remote installed turns on by itself

Many times this is caused by stray frequencies in the neighborhood. And, sometimes changing the frequencies on the remote and receiver reduce the occurrence.

But it sounds like this may not be the case, here. If not, the receiver in the fan is the culprit and should be replaced. No danger, just annoying.

SOURCE: No dip switch in Hunter 27157 remote control.

Those aren't transistors in the transmitter they are jumpers. Match the jumper settings with your dip switch settings in the receiver. You can move the jumpers in the transmitter using a small needle nose pliers. An open jumper in the transmitter equals an OFF setting on the dip switch in the receiver.

Good luck!

SOURCE: Hunter ceiling fan remote 85095-01 stopped working

it also could be one of the the jumpers fell out of the remote
they are located just above the battery. you will need to match the placement of the jumpers with the receiver mounted in the fan.

How do I get the remote to work fan and light

There are dip switches in the fan and in the remote that need to be set to the same numbers. You can set them to whatever you want, as long as they match. If these numbers don't match it won't control your fan.

Here's a few lines from the user manual:
"IMPORTANT! Before installing this control, check the factory dip switch settings. Refer to Figure 1. Be sure the dip switch positions of the transmitter and the receiver match, or the ceiling fan will not function."

Here's a link to the PDF manual, which has an explanation and a figure in the middle of where you can locate these dip switches on the transmitter and the receiver both.

Remote will not operate fan or light. Replaced battery. Remote light glows red when pressed

Check dip switches in remote and dip switches on receiver in the canopy of the fan, make sure the settings match exactly. Make sure there is power to the fan. Make sure the fan and light are not manually set to off by pullchains that may be on the fan. If the fan does have pullchains, wire it directly in (bypass the remote in the canopy) and test the functions to make sure the fan and light are working. If it works without the remote, but not with the remote, and the dip switches are set the same and you have new batteries, then the remote and receiver should be replaced.

I have had the same problem with the light coming on intermittently by itself. At first I also could not change the settings and have the remote work with the new settings. But I found out that when you change the dip switch of the receiver you must turn off the power using the wall switch or the circuit breaker and turn it back on before the receiver will use the new dip setting. I am still waiting to see if the light will come back on after changing the dip switches from 1-on, 2-on, 3-on, 4-off to 1-off, 2-on, 3-on, 4-on and the remote's jumpers from 1-jumpered, 2-jumpered, 3-jumpered, 4- no jumper to 1-no jumper, 2-jumpered, 3-jumpered, 4- jumpered.

You need to completely power off (wall switch or breaker) when changing the dip switches. Not just power off from remote because it will keep previous setting. I learned it the hard way....

Fan and light control model 27157

yeah, if you take off the battery cover on your fan remote there should be something called a "dip switch". it wiil be numbered 1,2,3,4, just flip these switches up or down to match the receiver that will be located in the fan houseing or in the fan canopy.

Dip switch settings

I've had the same problem w/ light turning on/off. Called customer support and 3x waited 6 minutes to leave message and get no call back. Finally got a human and she told me to change code in receiver and transmitter. This was no easy task as the fan is very high up and the stupid thing needs to come down to adjust the receiver. Changed the setting and it worked for two days until it started back with the lights turning on at all hours. I noticed there's a toggle switch in the remote that is not explained in the manual. It says CFL on one side and INC on the other. The light will NOT dim if it's in CFL and tonight is the first time I've switched it to that setting. I'm hoping this is some kind of lockout for random signals going out of the remote...It would be nice to have a proper explanation in the manual. I should have gone with another Casablanca fan--Hunter products are lame.
