I have a a Sony multi disk player which I love. However all of a sudden one channel has a murky sound. I check the speakers, cable...and came to the conclusion that it is the output to that channel. Perhaps the laser is dirty. Would a optical cable correct this? Do you have any thoughts or sollutions.

Hi there, what happens when you swap the rca connections left for right on the back of the Sony. Does the fault go to the other channel?
awaiting your advice.

I swapped the plugs, which just resulted in a fuzzy sound from the other speaker. It is not the speakers, since I tried the headphones with the same result. It is not the plug, since I changed the plug. It is not the amp...since I checked this out also. It is the output from one of the analog outlets on the back of the amp. That is why I wonder if a optical connection would resolve the problem.
