If you unplug the power adapter, take out the battery, open the memory cover, un plug the RTC battery, press the power on button to disipate any voltage, re-install cable for RTC battery, put memory cover back on, battery back in, power adapter plug back in, boot up, cmos checksum error enter set-up utility, set date, time etc.
