If its quick release you pull out on the lever unscrew a little if you have too and then pop wheel out real quick ,,,to get back on you may have to unscrew it a bit more as the forks have expanded outward now, if its held in by nuts, you want an even amount of threads showing on each side, then you know it is tightened up correctly. but in both of these procedures make sure that you center the wheel between the brake pads evenly.

I have a 96 Saturn sl. On the passenger side back tire there is a skinny pole that connects to the tire, well it snapped and I dont know what the name of the part is so I can buy it.

well there are several poles at the rear tire. one is the strut it has a spring wrapped around it. then there is a trailing arm that runs from the front of the tire and attaches to the frame. then there is a stabilizer link rod that attaches to the strut housing and the rear sway bar.

Remove and replace Front Sway bar

Hello ggagne.
Here is the procedure.

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the left tire and wheel assembly.
  3. Remove the pinch bolt from the lower intermediate steering shaft
  4. Loosen all insulator clamp attaching bolts.
  5. Place a jack stand under the center of the rear frame cross member.
  6. Remove the rear frame-to-body bolts.
  7. Lower the rear of the frame just enough to gain access to the stabilizer shaft.
  8. Remove the insulator clamp bolts and the clamps from the frame.
  9. Remove the insulators from the stabilizer bar.
  10. Remove the stabilizer bar links from the control arms.
  11. Pull the stabilizer shaft rearward.
Installation
  1. Insert the stabilizer shaft to the left side of the vehicle. Important: DO NOT tighten the stabilizer link nut at this time. The weight of the vehicle must be supported by the control arms such that you can obtain the vehicle design trim heights before tightening the link nut.
  2. Loosely install the stabilizer shaft link at the control arm.
  3. Install the insulators on to the stabilizer bar.
  4. Connect the insulator clamps to the frame.
    • Tighten the stabilizer shaft bracket bolts to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.) .
  5. Raise the frame into position while you guide the steering shaft onto the gear.
  6. Install the new frame-to-body attaching bolts.
  7. Remove the jack stand.
  8. Install the pinch bolt and tighten.
  9. Install the left tire and wheel assembly.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Support the weight of the vehicle by the control arms.
  12. Tighten the stabilizer link nut.
    • Tighten the stabilizer shaft link nut to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.)
There you are, I hope your job goes well.
Thank you for using FixYa.

Steering loose

On these vehicles the main thing to look for when you have play in the steering is on the passenger side of the vehicle in front of the right front tire on the frame the idler arm.How to check and see if it is that jack up the right front(passenger)side tire and when it is off the ground put one hand on front of the tire and the other hand on the back of the tire and try to move it back and forth,if it moves a decent amount then look at the idler arm and move the tire back and forth again and if the idler arm moves up and down say about 1/2 and inch replace it and have the front end alignment done afterwards.

How do I attach the hadlebars?

the bars go throuhg the hole down into the front wheel. on the bar where the the neck goes into the frame there is a hole in that a long bolt goes in that, then the wedge shape nut goes on the long that runs down the neck into the frame that the front is in. make sure that the wedge bolt will line up with wedge on bar. place through frame into wheel so the neck bottem out get your ratach and start cranking as it get tight line up neck w/ tire and lock it down pull up to check turn head just in case
