For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question(*&^%$

After washing clothes if i dont turn main valves ( hot/cold ) off it will continue to fill washer. Not sure what to do. Please help

the problem most likely will be in the solenoid valves for the water inlets
they are operated by a small diaphragm ( replaceable) and if the small needle has dirt or other obstruction or a hole then water will continue to flow
it is always good practice to turn off the taps and power at the wall when the machine is not being used
one reason is what you have
and the other is that the electronics are not subject to power surges or lightning strikes when not in use

How do I wash my dog's clothing?

As with anything, always read the label for instructions on how to wash the clothing. I would also use a hypoallergenic laundry detergent because my dog was allergic to the detergent we once kept in the house.

Washed clothes with gasoline on them. Put into dryer now washer and dryer smell like gasoline. How do I get it out?

To remove gas (petrol) smell from clothing, soak overnight in baby oil (use like you would downy), then wash in baking soda, then wash with normal detergent. It will rid "gas smell" from an entire basket of clothes. Air Dry ONLY
From ehow website:
Step1
Buy a bottle of baby oil. Since gas is an oil based product it is going to take an oil based product to clean the gas out of your clothing. Baby oil is a great product to use as it shouldn't, in most cases, cause further damage to your clothing.
Step2
Soak your clothes with a bit of laundry detergent, water, and a generous portion of baby oil. Also dab some right on the stain before soaking.
Step3
Swash your clothes in the water for a while and let them sit for about five minutes. Transfer the clothes into your washer, once again remembering not to mix them with any other clothing, and let the cycle finish.
Step4
Wash the clothes. If you have a top load washer, let it partially fill up about 1/4 of the way with water. Put some of the baby oil in the wash with the clothes and swash it around a bit. Once the washer cycle begins, add the detergent and let the cycle finish. Make sure that your gas coated clothes are the only clothes you put in the wash.
Step5
Dry your clothing. Make sure you only AIR DRY on a clothes line these clothes. It could take more than one wash to get all the oil out of your clothing. If you use the dryer after the first, or even the second time, you could risk starting a fire in your dryer.
Step6
Check and see if any smell remains in your clothing. If the smell of gas remains on the clothing repeat the wash with baby oil again until the smell is gone.

I have a Whirlpool top loading washer. The motor does not come on on any of the wash cycles but it does come on during the rinse cycles. Does this sound like a timer problem? Could this have been caused...

sounds like it could be a fault caused by a power surge, it may be worth checking the carbon brushes in the motor if they are worn down the wont supply power to the armature especially under a heavey load such as washing or a fast spin a tell tale sign is clothes seem to be still really wet after a spin

Getting code LF won't wash stays on same amount of time

Try unplugging the washer for 10 min. This will reboot the circuit board. Sometime you can get small power surges from the electric company and these will confuse the electronics in the curcuit board. Unplugging and resetting the system wil sometimes work.

Basically its saying that the motor is pulling very high amperes. This could signify a faulty motor, motor controller, or thermal protector, or there could be a mechanical bind in the transmission. i would use a amprobe and check to see how much power is being pulled when the machine starts, and as it is operating if it is 5.55 amps or greater and higher than 20 amps on motor start surge, than the motor controller is correct in saying there is a problem. ------Dont forget to rate my help!!!!!! thanks
