Broken water dispensing tube

At the dispensing station on the door, the water dispensing tube is cracked at the top of the vertical loop. How do I get the plastic dispensing framework loose from the door so that I can replace the cracked line? I am a mechanic by trade, but I am reluctant to pry randomly to pop the unit free from the door without knowing how it is fastened.

You h ave a project in front of you. you are going to have to remove the door entirely from the cabinet, including electrical and water line connections. you will then have to remove the inner door liner and gasket, to access behind the dispenser module. you will need to pull the line out from the bottom, carefully, and replace with new water line, then replace gasket and liner, and reattach door.

Good luck.

Can you replace water dispenser tube inside door from front display panel or you need to disassembly door from inside fridge?

Unless the tube is cracked and broken, there should be no need to replace it. Try sending a small amount of compressed air through the tube to clear a suspected blockage.

Where do I direct the hot air from an hair dryer to thaw out the water line in my hotpoint side by side refrigerator ?

Hotpoint ref.
made by GE
There is 2 different place they freeze up inside door water line for cold water dispenser & water feed to ice maker.
for cold water disp. Water line depends on model # will start at bottom of door loop over the disp. control and back down from top of control to cup area to defrost this line best way is to shut down ref and leave door on freezer open can take up to 12 hours.
taking door apart is a major project.
If its your ice maker fill tube easy fix turn water supply off.
on back of ref. there is a water line going up to the top of freezer
this tube will pull out from back the whole fill tube will come out
take to sink thaw with warm water replace tube You may need some caulk to seal area tube meet ref.

Water dispenser not working

Have you changed the water filter? they can plug up over time. The water tube can freeze in the door. To test this there usually is a disconnect under the freezer door side of the grill you can disconnect this and hit the water dispenser lever. If the door is getting water then it is frozen in the door. If not the water valve could be your problem there are two sides to the water valve one for the water dispenser and one for the icemaker. A last possibility is there is a water tank or tubing loop in the refrigerator behind the crisper this could have frozen.

My Amana french door/bottom freezer is leaking water. Did the procedure with hot water the drain in back of the freezer, although it seemed clear of ice. That didn't help. The leaking stops when I...

Two possibilities:
1. A cracked plastic tube. These will leak whenever there's a call for water - either the chilled water dispenser, or re-filling the icemaker tray (two seperate tubes). Pay particular attention to anywhere the tubes are clamped to the chassis; anywhere they're routed near or under the refrigeration unit; and near the solenoid valve - especially if there's a tight loop in the tube there.
2. A bad (leaking) connection where one of the tubes exits the water valve. Again, these will leak whenever the valve is activated.

Those plastic tubes don't last forever. I've replaced many of them for the same symptoms. They're known to simply deteriorate with age.
Manuf's make good money selling replacement tubing kits.

I had the same problem. The the repair tech found two broken 5/16" plastic tubings on the output side of the ice maker and door water dispenser solenoids. These are located on the Bracket and Valve Assly. where the main water connection is on the rear of the refrigerator behind the cardboard grill. The tubing is placed right next to the hot compressor so they crack over time.

Whirlpool model #GD25DIXH02. The front water dispenser tube cracked at the retaining screw. How do I change the filler tube kit?

Remove the top free door hinge cover and disconnect the plug there . This removes all power to the door . Remove the grill inside the dispensor , and remove the 2 screws at the bottom , holding the dispensor cover on . Lift the cover to remove , and disconnect the receptical , freeing the front . Next , remove the 4 screws holding the white dispensor switch mount , and slide out . Remove the screw holding the water fitting assembly .
Remove the bottom refrig kick plate . Follow the tube about 6 " to a connector , and disconnect the connector . The plastic compression nut , slips off the tubing after disconnecting .
Pull the dispensor tube , up thru the door from the top . Using the new tube with spout , pt number 4388152 . Insert the new tube into the hole from the top , and feed down , thru the door . Re-assemble in reverse .

My Kenmore side by side unit leaks water onto the floor and the water dispenser has stopped working. When I hit the dispense switch I hear water squirting.

Probably the plastic tube that came from the solenoid is broken somewhere between the solenoid and the dispenser(usually under the refrigerator).

Kenmore 57033 Water Dispenser Broken

I had a similar problem on a frigidaire side by side. I think the water line may be freezing. My solution was to remove the filter inside the refridgerator and drain it and reinstall. This causes the water to flow into the filter and eliminates any ice in the tubing. I have not had the problem in a while. While not a true fix, it may help narrow it down.
Later on, I eventually replaced the microswitch on the door dispenser for an intermittent dispenser problem.

Hope this helps.
