Question about Philips 14MS2331 14" TV

Sound quit working

The television worked just fine in the morning, then that afternoon when we turned it on, there was no sound ... (we hadn't done anything in between). We have gone through all of the menu screens and even tried headphones in the front jack but still have no sound. The picture is great and everything else (including CC) seems to be working just fine. Any suggestions as to what the problem could be? I have a PROTRON PLTV-32M and cannot get sound from the TV. I can play a DVD through my surround sound, but when I try just the TV with the Direct Sat. I get no sound at all. Been through all the menus I can find and changed different things, but nothing so far.

Hi,

I suggest you to go for a hard reset.Unplug all the cords of the tv and then plug it back after an hour.Doing this will reset the factory default codes.

If you still face the problem then you will have to get it repaired by a technician the problem can be with your TV.

Goodluck..

Have you tried unplugging the tv or especially the Direct satellite receiver for a minute?

Do the same (unplug) with satellite/ cable receiver. You could be using the TV with a cable or satellite TV
box which could have its sound turned down or be defective. Try hooking the tv to a different receiver.

No sound on my 8year old panasonic tv.

It worked fine yesterday. Sound on all channels. Sometimes the picture goes black on channel 6. We can get it back by going up one channel, then back to 6. it is due to cable signal ie weak. now there is no sound this is due to sound section 1 loose connect in sound section 2 speaker 3 problem in sound section some part must have failed.

Sound quit working

You didn't mention if you were using the TV with a cable or satellite TV box which could have its sound turned down or be defective. Otherwise, if you have a VCR or DVD hooked up to the set, do you get sound then? With some TV's there is a menu selection where you can turn the speakers off and on some sets, there is a switch to mute the speakers. If you still can't get sound and the set is out of warranty, then a replacement is probably in order.
