The connector that "binds" the cord to the print-head probably has broken, such that the print-head does not move when it should.

It's better to responsibly recycle the printer, and buy a new time (that uses the same ink-cartridges???) than it would be to pay for professional trouble-shooting.

Lexmark p4350 paper feeds only half way and then stops. There is nothing in the way. I can pull it through.h

Try to follow the steps below to determine what might be causing this and fix the problem:
  1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder. Ensure that the paper feed is free from obstructions. Try to use a flashlight and look into the feeder for any foreign objects that might have accidentally fallen into it. If you're physically able and willing, carefully turn it upside down. Any objects should freely roll out from the feeder. If feeder is clear, place the printer back on the table.
  2. Open the printer and remove the cartridges. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions in the paper path or the cartridge carrier.
  3. Ensure that the encoder strip (transparent strip found behind the cartridge carrier along with the belt) is not loose and properly secured in its position. If area is clear and everything is in its position, close the printer cover.
  4. Re-brick your printer.Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.
  5. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper.
  6. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
Should the problem continue, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for further assistance. Thanks.

Lexmark 2670 code EC continues to flash along with the in front of black ink

The error could be indicating that there's a communication failure between your cartridge and the printer. Please follow the steps below to fix the problem:

1. Make sure the printer is on.

2. Open the printer cover. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-in-One is busy.

Note: If the carrier does not automatically move to the center, turn off the printer/unplug the printer from the power source and then slide the carrier to the center.

3. Remove both cartridges from the carrier.

4. Close the printer cover.

5. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first.

7. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.

8. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.

9. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new cartridge.

I hope this helps.

Carrier jam on lexmark x5070 how do I fix it or clear it?

We apologize for the inconvenience. Please follow the steps below to identify and fix the problem:
  1. Open the printer cover to access the cartridge area. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-in-One is busy.
  2. Remove both cartridges from the printer.
  3. Check the cartridge area and make sure encoder strip is not loose. The encoder strip is transparent strip located behind the cartridge carrier along with the carrier belt.
  4. If encoder strip is properly seated in the printer, close the printer cover.
  5. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, re-insert one cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any errors. The carrier jam could be due to one of the cartridges.
  7. If no error appears, re-insert the other cartridge.
  8. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear.
  9. If no error appears, try to print again to verify that the carrier jam issue is fixed.
We hope this information has been helpful.

Hi Good day!!! try this trick ^_^ open the cover of your printer to see the print head, now turn off your printer you will see your print head is moving when it moves to the center pull out the power cord of your printer ( this trick is about good timing) if success the print head is now in the center now remove the ink cartridge (note don't installed the new cartridge yet) now turn back on you printer without the cartridges, your printer will recognize that the cartridges are missing, ^_^ and finally your printer will find the your inks after that insert it according to its location.

X4270 error 1200

Turn off power to the printer and unplug it from the back of the printer.
Insert the power cord back into the printer. You will hear some clicks and motors moving. Pull out the cord again when this happens.Open the cartridge bay by pulling the face forward and lifting the bay door up. The cartridge carousel most likely will not come to the center.By trying physically pulling the carousel to the middle (NOT BY THE RIBBON CABLE) ,if you can not pull it to the middle push it far right as possible. Listen for a click.
After pushing to the right and hearing a click you should then be able to pull the carousel towards the middle easily. Remove the ink cartridges and power up the printer again. You will receive an error along the lines of black cartridge missing. Open the bay, insert the cartridges, close the bay.Your problem is fixed.

if that doesnt help...
remove the shell from the black base, clean the goop from under the ink cartridges, put silicon on the bars after cleaning with alcohol, grease the gears sparingly, put it back together,

good luck

My message window shows error 1200. What does this mean? I cannot find a solution in my trouble shooting guide

The 1200 error is caused by a cartridge carrier stall. This can happen if:
  • The print cartridges are not snapped in correctly.
  • The encoder strip is out of place.
  • A foreign object is blocking the cartridge carrier's path.
Try this first step to correct it
Turn off power to the printer and unplug it from the back of the printer.

Insert the power cord back into the printer. You will hear some clicks and motors moving. Pull out the cord again when this happens.

Open the cartridge bay by pulling the face forward and lifting the bay door up. The cartridge carousel most likely will not come to the center.

You will receive an error along the lines of black cartridge missing. Open the bay, insert the cartridges, close the bay. if the error still persists Could be a timing belt issue, gearing or a jam, etc.

Open the cartridge bay by pulling the face forward and lifting the bay door up. The cartridge carousel most likely will not come to the center.

YAY problem fixed.
